This opressive heat has me thinking again about how it would be better to start baseball on Aug 2nd instead of football. Could have started baseball today after the players had been playing summer ball to stay in shape. Practice 3 or 4 days and then begin tournament play before school starts. Get in as many games as possible before school even begins. It would be much cooler/safer for the student/athletes to have their first day of football after school as soon as they return from Christmas break. This would also give them all fall to prep during the athletic period so that they could get after it quickly after Christmas. I know it will never happen but I still truly believe in my heart it would be the way to go.
