I think a 162 game season is to long and there are a lot of meaningless games plus the season runs into November now. I think they should reduce the game to 121 games.

For sure. A 10 game season would be great.

No that would be dumb.. The only thing I would change in any of the major profesional sports would be to eliminate the NBA.. What a useless fake league that gets way too much face time for what it really is..

should be 112 games........by the way , the Rangers would now have an 8 game lead with 7 games left.....AL Western Division champions!

nope 162 is just fine.......I wouldn't mind them starting the season earlier though.....cutting Spring Training by a week or so.

Get rid of pro football and play 11 months a year.

MLB has already announced that the schedule will change next year. The season will start on the previous Friday that it has traditionally started, and the season will end on a Wednesday instead. Those extra days at the start ensure that the World Series will always end in October.

I think both MLB and NBA seasons are way too long. I dont really pay much attention to either till after the all star breaks. And even then, its only a passing interest till the last couple of weeks of the season, and the playoffs.

I also think 2 preseason games in the NFL is plenty. As it is now, I seldom even bother watching the first two or three.

NFL preseason isn't about fans/interest. It's about opportunity for the bottom-feeders of the roster to prove their worth to the team.

Records and statistics are religion with baseball purists, a shortened season could unravel the baseball universe. But since baseball is a talking sport they'd love it. The old timers would have a chance to compare with the "steroid" era players and the numbers would be relative. Ticket prices won't allow it though.

Then why do they sell tickets, put it on TV, play it on Monday night, and take it on the road to foreign countries? Dont tell me it isnt about fans/interest. I just happen to NOT be interested in it. But yeah, there is the occasional bottom feeder (as you call it) that does manage to make a roster from time to time. And by the way, most pro head coaches dont like all the pre season games either. They would rather have only 2 or 3 at the most.
