I think right now the concern is MAKING the playoffs. Our district has four teams ranked in DCTF's Top 25 — No. 4 Carthage, No. 13 Gilmer, No. 15 Henderson and No. 18 Pittsburg.

Yeah, that's a fact. ;)

It's also a fact that Brownwood has more than Gilmer, and will have a true shot to add to that.:p

How does a city of 20,000+ only have a 3A high school? What happened to your enrollment?

There are 7 ISD's, 1 Charter school and 2 private schools in a county with a population of 40,000.

I knew there had to be a reason. I think this must be the largest city in 3A, though. Upshur County also has 7 ISDs and only 38,000 people. Gilmer has 5,000, at best.

I was just looking at Brownwood's Wikipedia and saw a reference to this famous former resident.

What an ass..et to your community. Do any of you know her?

I have asked many people in the community if they know who she is.....either I don't know the right people or she has never lived here, cause no one knows her. Personally I think is a PR stunt, trying to capitalize on the fact that she is from the same town as Candy Barr.:nerd:

I dont think that is right. I know there are lines for each school district, it is not open enrollment. There are kids that live in different school districts that put in transfers for various reasons but they have to be approved on an individual basis
