Wylie vs La Vernia cancelled, no game scheduled

Like I said earlier, Stephenville will be bruised up a bit from week 0 against Aledo so Wylie has a chance to do more damage. Then in week 2, we'll lay the WOOD to 'em!:D

We helped Wylie out last year, it's time to help us out this year.:clap:

All I want to know is what happened to the La Vernia "our coach ain't scared, we'll play anyone, anywhere" talk that was going on in previous posts?

I am not saying that they are scared of Wylie, but sounds like travel was an issue. Maybe the coach doesn't have all the power he thinks he has or should check with his "Super" next time to get an approved traveling radius that works for the school system.

Pulling this crap this late only makes La Vernia look bad, cost Wylie a game (too late to schedule someone else now) and cost Wylie revenue (with the loss of a home game). Don't know if these agreements are purely verbal or if there is a contract signed, but I feel that La Vernia ought to cough up some money for the loss of this game. Maybe next time this will make them as well as other teams think before they agree to a game and then back out of it, especially in July.

2. Not too late to schedule in a private school, i.e. FW All Saints
3. Wylie doesn't need a game 1, they are that good.

I think they are going w/Belton just because the stadium is open both years...plus I dont LaVernia would be allowed to travel all the way to Brownwood...I think Belton's about as far as they'll be allowed to go
