Help an old guy out. Who decides what is cool and what is not in our society?

Some things I've been told that are NOT cool:

Tags showing on your cap or clothes.

Lots of cheap, gaudy jewelry on a man.

Sandals, if you ain't got purty toes.

Low-riders on a man that show underwear or skin.

What else is not cool, or cool and hot to see or do?

I think it all depends on where you are. In Houston, it's not cool for me to wear my flip flops because I have ugly toes.

Back in Ingleside, it's almost expected. :D

LOL---I can see where this thread is going in a hurry. Surely, no one will seize this as an opportunity to take a shot at another town or poster? :D

Ingleside is a little more laid back than Houston. No need to worry about those things. :D

I think cool is like politically correct. It is a useless convention and not for people with true centers and core belief's and strengths. That being said, I do like some cool things and not cool things. But these things change over time. Hair for instance. very short in the 50's. Long in the 70's. Short in the 90's and getting long again now. I still like high and tight military style. I have liked it since I was in the Air Force. Still do.

So leave cool from what others believe where it is. IN the majesty of their own minds. Meanwhile, I shall enjoy the intelligent conversation in mine.

Ps.... Ya'll are just jealous because the voices in my head won't talk to you.

Well now I would not say that. However there are people like you that like to instigate without regard for facts.

"Cool" is something for young people and old people who think they are cool!
"Hot" is decided by Paris Hilton!!!!!

I've seen it before. I was at Birdville in 2004 when the new realignment was going on. When the coaches got together to schedule their games the next year a coach from Gainesville approached the coward from Celina, know to you as Butch Ford, about scheduling a game and the coward refused it. How do you like them facts.

Cool - something old thats new.
Not Cool - buying something to try and be cool.

Hot - Paris decides.
