Holiday Inn Sunspree is a bit older but still a nice place to stay. They have a pool, hot tub, and outdoor bar that often has live music. It's right on the Gulf, too.

I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in Port Aransas recently. It was a block from the beach.

It cost $220 a night. I won't be staying there again for that price, but it was nice.

Fun place.

Port Royal is pretty damn great, but it's expensive. If you were going with a few people to split the cost you'd love it. The Laguna pool and bar go off!

Agreed. That's what I do whenever I stay in San Antonio or Fort Worth, but it did me no good in Port Aransas.

Must be a beach thing.

If your going to be swimming in the beach you want to be next to....then don't stay downtown.

Get a place in Port Aransas.

Approx drive time from PA to downtown is 20-30 minutes dep on traffic.

If your just wanting the view, then stay at the Omni - Bayfront location. That hotel has the best view in all of Corpus....but be prepared for $200-300/night for the ocean-side of the hotel.

But just like everyone is saying....PRICELINE

Word of warning: the seaweed was awful on July 4th weekend. Take a rake and/or shovel. That stuff was basically velcro'd to the sand at Port A.

Omni and Holiday Emerald Beach are downtown on Corpus Christi Bay, not the Gulf Beach. If several are going, you might check out some of the condos on the beach.

Me too. You can't beat it. Just remember not to use or open anything in the room
until you check the price tag on it. Lol
