I bought it with a 12-month Xbox live subscription for $75.00 total after tax, but the estimated delivery date is 7/23...so I guess I'm paying for buying it for the $40 on Dell.

Have you played the demo? They have a completely new player movement called Locomotion. Player movement is very, very realistic from what I've played.

The graphics are great, although I'm still used to seeing Wii graphics, so I'm kind of easily impressed.

Also, if you do buy the game, download the demo anyway and play through all four games that are provided so that you can unlock their Nike Pro Combat uniforms.

12 people can be in it. You can either be all in the same conference or spread it out some. A "week" is usually 3-4 days to get your game in and do you recruiting. You play the game whenever you want. If you have a game against a user you play it against them. Most league will split it up between 3-6 conference and schedule non-conference games against each other.

Operation Sports forums say that they'll have the 360 rosters ready to go this afternoon under the gamer tag of Fairdale Kings.

Apparently this is a guy who's done it for a few years and has always been very accurate.

I'm hoping my game arrives today. For some reason, my shipping information shows two packages, one of which was sent to Sarasota, Florida for delivery and another one that's in Denton.

I'm hoping that both my Live subscription and game are in the Denton package and that the Sarasota is actually somebody else's that Dell mistakenly processed and gave me tracking info for.

Otherwise I'll be without either the game or the subscription for a while.

The advantage to them over community rosters is that he doesn't alter any kind of ratings or anything on players, just adds the name, so you can use those rosters online.

we have talked about it...like we could do non top 25 bcs...that could be fun or 4 star below and juist require like 3 user v user games or pick conferences then you get drafted into a conference and you have to pick a team based on teh requirements we decide so everyone can have fun

You could always do a free-for-all and if two players want the same school, they could battle it out head to head using that school with the winner getting to keep it and the loser having to pick something else. That would put some drama in from the start! :devil:

They should come up one for Texas high school football with almost the same features like NCAA Football but have every school in Texas and create your own school, you decide if your school move up or drop down in class, make your own football schedules, design your own realignment in each class. :thinking: and name it "Friday Night Lights":D

I was close to picking UNT but went with Navy instead knowing it would be easier to schedule games with their independent status

Haha...I was tempted, but I gave up on that after playing a game with UNT...they have too far to go and so little hope of getting to a better bowl game, so I figured it would be really hard to improve them in a 12-team dynasty.

I was really close to taking an SEC school or one of the other Big XII schools. Will Emerson be able to manually move Colorado and Utah into the PAC-10 and Nebraska into the Big Ten during the league's second season?

Personally, I like my video games to be as realistic as possible, and I can't stand it when I play against people who refuse to use a punter or tries the onside kick every time they score.

Sure, the argument is always, "Well, if you stop them, it's to your benefit," but it just doesn't seem like real football to me.

Don't get me wrong, there are always times when there could be an exception, but I think that at least having some base agreements in place would be helpful.

Well I just don't like the idea of a rule deciding the strategy in which I play the game. If it's 4th and inches on my own 45 yard line, I'm most likely going to go for it. I personally don't have a problem with anyone going for it on 4th down whenever they want. There's a reason football consists of 4 downs and not just 3 and you have to punt.

As of last night, two teams, Keith and mwynn, need to get their game in so we can advance.

I'm still reeling from an epic loss to Emerson. Down 17 in the 4th, I intercepted a pass near his 20, then got it to 4th and goal from the 1 and couldn't punch it in.

But on the ensuing possession, his running back fumbles inside the 5 and I got a second chance. I scored a TD to cut the deficit to 10.

With the clock running low, he assumed I'd go for the onside kick, so I tried to pooch it over the defense to try to recover that way. I kicked it too hard though, and it went deep. It looked like it was heading out of bounds after a couple of bounces, so Emerson ran his deep returner away from the ball, which then came to a stop right on the sideline where I was able to recover and score another TD to cut the deficit to 3 with three minutes remaining.

I then managed to recover a normal onside kick, drove the ball deep into his territory and was well within field goal range with a minute left, but on 3rd-and-6, I decided to try to convert by throwing the ball to set myself up to go for the win. I went with what I figured was a low-risk pass to the tight end running a flat pattern, but Emerson's linebacker was playing the perfect zone coverage and grabbed the pick to seal the victory.

Dang...I thought you had run him away from the ball expecting it to go out of bounds. You got glitched a couple of times in the game then. I saw the QB handoff issue where he ran back 20 yards before you could do anything. Out of fairness, I tried to pull my defensive line back to give you time to make a throw, but then I picked off the pass.

It's a server issue with EA...basically the season showdown feature was malfunctioning the day the game was released so they had to take it down from maintenance and it's not fully functional again yet. It really doesn't mean anything though, so you don't need to worry about it.

It's been so many years since I've had an NCAA game that recruiting is totally different...is there any use at all going after a player who doesn't list you on their initial interest report, or do you need to stick to guys who say they're interested in you before the season starts?

It's very hard to get a recruit to score interest in you if he's not already interested. The best thing to do is recruit players from your pipeline states as it makes it easier with the pipeline bonus points.

Does anybody know if there's a way to do substitute players on the fly? For example, when you're on offense and your running back turns orange in the playcalling screen, is there a set of buttons I can press to bring in my backup RB for a couple of plays?

I read through the instruction manual, and so far all I've found are formation substitutions.

You do the formation sub while you're choosing formations.. I think it's LB/RB or maybe the right stick (I don't have the game in front of me) and you want to toggle over to the "HB Sub".. I do it on just about every play.. I have to bring in my back QB sometimes when I'm using an option team

Use the right stick. You have to be on the play calling screen where you pick the formation, not the quick pick.

It's only an issue I have seen with the play action screen pass. I just forgot about it. First time I did it my RB caught it and ran for a TD.

I only put guys on my board who have me in their top 3, or if I am in their top 5 and I am within 200 or so points.

If you are 500 back and 5th you have no chance.

If it saved my recruiting you should be good to go. Make sure you have recruit board help OFF or else the CPU will reshuffle it everytime you leave and add new ones you don't want.

The polls will start to even out and I think in week 8 BCS rankings come out.

In my other 2 leagues we have a coaches poll and a media poll on the dynasty website. Not sure why only coaches show up for us.

It's definitely like real like though. I am Oregon St. in another one and the week after I beat Boise(I killed TCU too) I was ranked 1 spot below boise in the coaches, but was #1 in the Media.

If I somehow manage to go undefeated I should be #1 or #2.

Sounds like a lot of good things are coming from EA in the next couple of weeks to improve the game...slowing down defensive linemen, adding mud to uniforms in the rain, fixing progression (which apparently is a huge issue after the third season or so), and possibly even allowing for next year's conference realignments.

If it applies, I'm with you. On the other hand, if it's not, it might be worth it to restart after this year. Things like play action sacks and QBs failing to hand off and running back thirty yards are issues I'd rather see fixed.

That was probably the most glitch filled game I've ever played in my 17 years of playing football video games.

My defenders ran by your running back like idiots, your defenders jump 15 feet high to knock down passes, my guys can't catch, my QB pitches it to 5 yards behind the running back and the RB just stands there, I convert a third and short in the first quarter and they call it fourth and 1, your DBs make ridiculously unrealistic interceptions and my QBs miss open receivers by 10 yards..

With all that being said, I should have won the game. I played better but the glitches were too much to overcome

Quit crying about the rest of the stuff, if you pitched it before you got creamed it wouldn't have gone 5 yards behind him, even then there were pitches you completed after 2 of my guys were laying on your quarterback and the ball magically shot out of his hand.

You're QBs have 79 and 75 THA, they arn't gonna be able to make amazing throws out of the wishbone.

The result of that game would be the same 10/10 times.

Maybe it's just me, but doesn't it already seem like passing is pretty difficult even against the computer? Looking back through a lot of the scores in our league, even in blowouts, it hasn't been uncommon for QBs to have lower than 50% completion rates. Turning up the CPU pass coverage when DBs already seem to know what routes your receivers are running every play and lowering the human accuracy seems like it's going to be even harder to complete passes.

But if it's just me, maybe I just need to learn to improve in that area...other opinions?

what is the deal with play action in this game.....i love to run the ball, read option, option, dives, counters, etc and im normally pretty good at it...having griffin w/ baylor helps a lot as well...but i can run the ball literally 10 times in a row and the moment i do a playaction pass i get sacked....its like the defensive line never bites on it and even if they do it takes so long to get my quarterback to where he can throw the ball it doesnt matter the defensive end or a linebacker is in my face and im going down...

The ONLY way to have a successful PA play before the tuner was that you had to run the play immediately to the left of the PA play and run it for a big gain. Then, the PA play will show as "Set up" in the game plan, so you know when the defense is likely to bite on it...without that, you're basically going to get sacked or throw and incompletion every down.

I haven't played since the new tuning updated, but hopefully it took care of a lot of the issues.

Now who wants to tell me what the glitch is so that I can finally score more than twice offensively in the game? :D

Oh, and BTW Emerson, I'm all for implementing sliders on almost everything you mentioned earlier...I just was worried about the passing game. If the new tuner made the CBs more reactive rather than running the same route as your receiver, sliders may be the way to go...I just didn't think we needed to make passing more difficult when most of us are completing 50% or less on passes most weeks anyway.

Yeah, passing accuracy is already pretty shady. My quarterback overthrows about 1 out of every 3 passes and he has a fairly high accuracy. I'm all for the other sliders to help the CPU's defense and stuff.

on deep routes if you know your receiver has the guy beat by a step or two put a little air under the ball and and click to the receiver and run to it yourself, that way you can position him in front of the DB and make sure it is caught.

Did you implement changes that you had mentioned earlier? If not, I think the tuning from EA really worked. I noticed in my game that things seemed to work a lot better (like play action) in certain areas while the running game was a lot harder.
