In your opinion what was the best defense last year and who do you think will be the best defense this year?

Last year I'd say Carthage (had like 5 D1 players on it, not including the underclassmen) and Graham (1A-5A had the most Turnovers caused, held wylie and carthage to their season low in points ;) .) This year I would have to go with Carthage again. I'm not sure about everyone else :thinking:

To be honest I didn't see a best 3A defense last year. Pittsburg was good but injuries really took a toll on them. This year I don't know yet still alot of ???.

Graham gave up 14.6 per game, while Carthage gave up 14.8 :nerd: :confused: Graham got beat but gave up less points ;)

According to WOS,87 the Bulldogs gave up 16.44 (263 pts. in 16 games) and averaged 36on the board (577 in 16). The reason I have always advocated is that the Buckeyes would have beeten the Bulldogs in '09...gave up 277 pts & scored 782 pts in 15 games (18.47 & 52.13)

Kennedale had a good fast d last year. Not the best but the coaches made the most of what they had. Small and fast.

May be good this year.

Celina had what I would call a down year last year on d. Should be better this year but I will have to wait and see.

They put enough lumps on the QB and RB that it affected them the remainder of the playoffs. I never saw Kennedale last year but from what I heard their D was solid.

LE Dad, I saw Pitt play in the playoffs, Manley is spectacular, however burns was held to like 50 yards, I know he was hurt, but you think those HUGE (had a kid that was 6' 320) beefy linemen coulda made some runnin room :thinking:

Sounds pretty solid to me. What do the boys think about the O line? I have been out of touch all summer with what is going on besides talking to seth and Jordan davis a couple of times and Jordan was about round ball cause my daughter is playing.

Navasota gave up 11.6 ppg regular season, and 16 ppg overall. They have 8 starters returning including MLB Kesnick Jones who was all state last year. They should have one of the saltiest defenses in 3A. That will come up big with Caldwell, Giddings, Cameron, and Bellville on the schedule.

They thought Dexter Pratt's shoes would be too big before Kye took over. Besides the defense, I think Austin Collins may be the new star at Navasota. Him and Tevin Creeks and Antoine Burrell will be impact players on both sides of the ball.

Kye will be missed but its a 11 man sport. The Rattlers will be just fine.

You aren't funny, at all. Just because a team doesn't play in a state championship doesn't mean that they didn't have a good defense. Along the way, sometimes you run into a team who's defense may be just a tad better. Not that team a has a poor defense, team b's defense was just better.

What is your problem, man? Sad thing is you don't know what you are talking about. Navasota played in the 1988 state championship and lost to Southlake Carroll. You also said Navasota only had one underclassman on offense. That is incorrect, three linemen and a quarterback graduated. The rest are back. As for the sh***y attitude, you will not be posting here much longer if you keep that up.

I know how ya feel, I watched em 2 games. Garrett looked great. strong arm, Roberts LOOKED like he was about to jump out of the town when they would throw jump balls to him.. They Just had trouble on the small detailed stuff like 3rd and short. But no worries.. 7 on 7 is pointless ;) :D
