This knucklehead ran onto to the field BEFORE the match started. Arent these guys who run on the field supposed to do it towards the end so they can at least get their moneys worth. He didnt even get to see the match.

A very well played game with big defensive plays by both sides.

it was a very ugly and boring game...im just glad spain won since the dutch were obviously trying to slow it down with a ton of cheap fouls....

So does this mean we can stop acting like we care about soccer?

With this popularity that has arisen here in the US I am very interested to see where soccer will be in 2014! Qualifying starts I believe after the Olympics in 2012.

the official made it worse than it should be by carding people for minor offenses early handicapping him to call every little thing a foul later...its not like Spain's players are known to be a bunch of floppers like the Italians or how the Dutch played against Brazil a week ago...some of those challenges that got yellow (like the drop kick to the chest) deserved red and didnt get it...

it also makes no sense for Spain to be falling down to just stop play, they were the better team and are known for passing and fluid soccer...for them to be stopping play every chance they get by flopping and faking a foul would play into the Netherlands favor, which is y the Dutch were playing the way they were...

The official who called the game issued the 2nd most yellow cards in the entire tournament of all officials heading into that game. Everyone knew it was going to be a tightly called game but the dutch decided to play the way they did anyway.
