Im a big lyrical fan. My favorite current artist is Houston Marchman. Probably the best songwriter since Townes Van Zandt, who Im also a big fan of.

EVERY ONE OF THOSE!! That's actually kind of scary...LOL

I also loved a lot of 90s bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Bush, Fuel, Live, Stone Temple Pilots, Garbage, Candlebox, Toad the Wet Sprocket. I thought the 90s were a great time for music. Bush's Sixteen Stone and Foo Fighters' The Colour and The Shape are two of the best albums ever made.

By the way, have you noticed they're not called albums any more? I wonder if it ages me that I still use that word.

An album is a collection of songs. A CD is simply the way it's delivered. An album can be a record, tape, CD, 8 track, MP3, etc...

Funny you mention that. I was watching something the other day that discussed the fact that CD's are containing fewer songs due to most people now downloading individual songs from the internet.

CD sales are suffering.

I pride myself on liking pretty much all genres of music. (Not real fond of rap but can listen to some). I listen to all rock, all country and pretty much most of any disco music that plays. Donna Summer will get me on the dance floor every time! but then the dance floor clears quickly. Wonder why?)

I even listen to Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra when the mood hits me. Dean Martin is a awesome singer!

Not surprising, really. CDs have always been overpriced, but now, in the days when you can download songs for $.99 or $1.29 it's just not logical to buy a 15 song CD when you're probably only buying it for whatever singles make it on the radio. I can remember back in the day spending $16-$18 on a CD and then getting SO hacked off because I didn't like most of it. One of the most egregious offenders were the Fugees. I bought their album because I loved their remake of "Killing Me Softly", and there wasn't a single other song on the CD I liked.

Forgot to say that I also love some of the older oldies, especially Frank Sinatra. "Fly Me to the Moon" and "Mack the Knife" are awesome!

I like most everything that isnt rap, punk rock, or that ol hard acid rock that was around for a while.
It all just depends on what mood I'm in, or what mood I want to put myself in. My XM stays on The Roadhouse or 70s most of the time. Once I put it on one of those, it'll usually stay there for several weeks before I change it. I seldom ever listen to new music anymore. So I'm sure I'm missing out on some pretty good stuff.
If I had to just pick one artist to listen to, it would be George Strait, hands down. But close behind would be George Jones, Eddy Arnold, Merle Haggard, Mel Tillis, Marty Robbins and Patsy Kline. Wow this makes me sound really old.

My favorite musician is King George. Never heard him put out a bad song.

I can listen to pretty much anything, though. Rap, R&B, country, reggae, metal, classical, rock, classic rock, there are artists in every genre I can get into. Then again, I pretty much only listen to talk radio and Christian music these days.

My favorite "genre" isn't really a genre at all. Just a collection of easygoing artists that kind of relax me. Don't know what you'd call it, but it includes Jack Johnson, Jimmy Buffett, the Eagles, Steve Miller Band, Kenny Chesney, Sublime, etc.
