It is a short silent movie of only about 20 minutes but a good patriotic one that is inspiring and it is on July 4th. It was made in 1927 but has been beautifully restored with great background music and colorization. It takes place during the American Revolutionary War.
In the movie George Washington appeals to Betsy Ross to create a flag for the new nation - The United States. But complications occur when Betsy's maid, who is secretly married to a British Officer, crosses the war lines to get to see her since he may not get to until the war is over. He is mistaken for a British spy. Suspense indeed along with some awe inspiring history story.
