I think if you have the means to buy one, then you should. It's a really awesome entertainment machine. It has the Blu-Ray player as you know, and you can plug in an external hard drive or USB drive and play movies off of it. You can also connect to your home computer and stream off of it. Has an online store where you can buy old Playstation One and Playstation 2 titles, as well as new games for the PS3. You can also rent and buy movies in standard definition or HD, and use Netflix.

You can do all of that on the 360 too except blu ray, and you buy old xbox games instead of ps2 obviously.

So I could buy a game off of the PS3, i would just never have the disc to it?

correct. all that you would have to have is the memory space on the system itself. also from what I heard from E3 that microsoft signed a contract w/ ESPN so i doubt you will be able to stream live sporting events on the ps3. both systems if over warranty can get pricey on repairs. my ps3 that i got when they first released had the laser burn out and it cost nearly 200 to repair it because of it being a blu ray laser in it. you can stream music and videos on both systems from your computer and usb hard drives so really the only argument between the systems is would you like to have a blu ray player for 300 bucks or would you like to be able to watch over 3500 streaming sports events via xbox live? and also the exclusives that come out for each system like halo for xbox and socom for ps3. the graphics are basicly the same for each system w/ 360 having just a few more games going the full 1080p. and you really cant argue the controller feeling better in your hands because madcatz came out with controllers to match the setup from each system. a which is better argument has been going on amongst the gaming community since the original box and ps2 hit the shelves.... just depends on what kind of games you like and what you grew up on basicly. if you have a 360 and want a bluray player.... walmart has one on sale right now for 120.... go pick it up
