I don't much about 7 on 7. I noticed that 64 teams are listed. Is that the final tally?

How do they deternime who plays who and is it a single elimination tournament?

Matt, did Gilmer and Carthage play each other in the Diboll tournament? They didn't did they?

dont believe so..on Gilmer/Carthage

the tournament format is as follow for Division 2..

The 64 teams are divided into 16 4 team pools.....

On Thursday pool play begins at noon..each team plays three pool games...the top 2 teams in each pool advance to the 32 team winners bracket, while the bottom 2 go to the 32 team losers bracket..

On Friday morning it becomes single elimination bracket play

Hi Matt,
Why is Lovejoy rated so low? Seriously, we have a great QB and all
receivers back. I find it strange that we are rated #1 Preseason for
football, but there are much smaller schools rated above us for 7 on 7.

7 on 7 is different, for some reason Lovejoy's just been OK this summer, not sure if they were missing guys in the SQTs or what but looking at their results they just didnt have that dominant feel

SOme times the smaller schools are better at 7 on 7 then the larger schools. Crane a few years ago won the 7 on 7. I think they beat brownwood in the championship game.

They beat us in the semi finals on literally the last play of the game.

I was just passing on info to Charlie. Stating that some of the smaller schools can really play. 1A -2A schools.

I watch you guys every week at our Monday night league and yes you have some great athletes and at times are really impressive.

It seems that 7 on 7 often resembles a tennis match in that the team that cannot hold serve usually loses. I think the bigger the home run potential of a team the more likely it is that they wont hold serve. It is almost impossible to stop a 3 yard pass in 4 seconds.

It seems that the key is linking a bunch of 3-8 yard completions and chew up the time. As soon as you get a lead, make the other team match and then use every second of the clock.

The long ball is not your friend in 7 on 7!

I haven't personally seen them play but I've talked to a few people that say they look really good. They have had some pretty tough competition and I don't think they have lost yet.

Charlie I'm sure if they were playing 11 on 11, LoveJoy would be rated much higher. Good luck this year. Hope we get to play you again this year. You guys had a very good team last year and I'm sure this year will be no different.:)

Well I did like the 2000 championship. Did not have the division breakups like now.

Had schools like slc and ahs saying who the heck is celina.

have a great program, we are just trying to build one. It's been exciting
to see how our new school has done in all sports. I would love to meet
some of you fine folks from Wylie.:)
