I hopped on a plane from Iraq to Afghanistan. I cannot believe it's already been a year since I was in the AFG.

Here's a couple of snapshots to commemorate this week :)

Hope this 4th of July is a better one for you and includes fireworks...the kind you can enjoy from a lawn chair.:)

His service to our country is just a reflection of his character, LE. I speak from 30+ years experience when I say that he's a good guy. Well, mostly good guy. ;)

I'm still thinking about it.....hang on.....

yes, I guess you are right.

He only puts a mug shot up occasionally, so we are all fairly safe. If you were to put him in a carseat though, he would look just like his daughter (bless her heart).;) :D

Thank you very much for your service. I am glad that this July 4th you will be on the beach, not just in the sand!

Know that far more Americans appreciate you and your fellow service men and women than those that want to roll over and turn their bellies up to enemy. Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your example to those who know you. It sounds like a lot of folks on here do!

One question, though. Does every conversation in AFG include Brownwood or Sweetwater somewhere in it?

I heard the main discussion amongst the troops in Afghanistan lately is a betting pool going around on just how quickly Rocket's predictions of a complete Brownwood dominance of the Nations 3A high schools will come apart like a cheap dollar watch. The best bet seems to be 1st week of November.

Each of us has a debt to repay to those that serve in our armed forces. They sacrifice thier normal lives and families to stand on the front lines and protect us from the forces that want to endager and erode our basic freedoms. Often, the soldier or sailor gets them blame for the reason or way we became involved in war when the reality is that they are serving the country they love and when the order to fight for that country comes down, they bravely step forward to carry out the mission laid out by the commander in chief and the elected representatives in the government. They fight, die, and struggle with the loss of friends and even emenies that are caught up in the battles that they see as duty. And, the worry torment that thier families go through can never be understood completely except by those that have experienced it.

That said, I would like to thank you and all those that serve to protect us and protect the freedom that we all sometimes take for granted. I would also like to honor those family members that have to stay home and live each day with worry and hope and still have to live thier lives and carry on. To the wives, mothers, fathers, and children of thse that serve, May God bless you and your Soldier or Sailor on this weekend that we celebrate the independence of this nation. You and your loved ones are appreciated and prayed for every day by those of us that treasure your service.
