I'm gonna go ahead and predict a 7-3 season for my Jays. :) This schedule has a few decent opponents on it.

three playoff teams in a 5 team district is just wrong IMO.

Sweeny
Needville
WC

Now that BR is outa the picture, WC still struggling to figure out who they are, as well as Wharton. WC and Wharton always have talent but always seem to lack one or two key pieces.

Should be interesting. What does yall's schedule look like? As you can see we've got a few "tests" early. Can't WAIT!

I would of liked to see Sweeny vs. Navasota myself.

Heard we tried to get Giddings to come to Sweeny but they declined.

You're not playing Brownwood?;)

How's Needville looking this coming year? I have my wife's relatives coming over this coming weekend from Needville and I want to be well informed. I won't tell them you are my source!:)

I know we lost our QB and some linemen if I'm not mistaken, but we return both of our RBs if I'm not mistaken. Both are big FB types. Not exactly "fast" but both 6'0+ and 200lbs+ Far as I know the Jays will continue to pound the ball in their standard "3yds and a cloud of dust" fashion. You know what...I'm headed to HEB right now to pick up a Dave Campbell's. LOL.

Dave Campbell's thoughts in a nutshell on D29 & Needville in general:

* District Predictions:
W: Sweeny (587)
R: Needville (797)
3: West Columbia (875)

* Preseason MVP Picks:
O: QB Tre Lemon, Sweeny
D: DE Dylan Fuchs, Needville

* Key Game:
-Sweeny @ Needville Wk10

* 2010 Needville Blue Jays: Coach Ryan Roark.

R/L: 15/21. Starters Returning: O/D: 5/5. Key

Loss: QB Kaleb Berry (Lamar)

Players to Watch: RB Shea Lehman (5'11, 185, 4.6)

DE/RB Dylan Fuchs (6'3, 205, 4.7)

TE Jake Johnson (6'2" 215, 4.8),

QB Terry Matlock (6'1, 185, 4.8).

2010 Notes: RB Lehman (700 rushing yds, 400 rcv yds, 11 TDs) is one of the Blue Jays' most versatile players according to coach Roark. DE Fuchs (who also ran the ball last year as a RB) had 126 tackles and 11 sacks. He was a third-team all state selection.

Needville should have a very physical line.

That's all I got fellas. :)

Edna should be decent. Ranked 10th by DCTF and 9th in coaches poll, DI AA.
Lost the home run hitter in Jones, but return almost all linemen and most of the D. OL is outstanding with one returning 3A all stater who is getting offers from DI schools. I think we'll have the biggest line in 2A ball, but Needville is always good in the trenches so it should be a good battle there. Move in at QB looking good; interesting to see how they'll do at 7 on 7.
Needville should be favored as they have twice the enrollment and a very good tradition, but I expect the game to be close and wouldn't be surprised to see the Cowboys come out on top.

Good stuff, thanks for the info!! I hadn't realized you guys had dropped back down. You guys will be potent in 2A. Look out Refugio!! LOL. Yup, I think the game between the Cowboys and the Blue Jays will be a good one! Looking forward to it for sure!
