The winners of each conference would play an eight team playoff for all the marbles. The rest of the bowls could fight for the number twos and such.

BTW, I put Texas St. in there for football because I think having a "state" college from Texas in division one is long overdue. If they weren't interested in FBS football, I would move UTEP from Mt. West to CUSA to keep them both at 16 schools. As it is, CUSA has 16 there and Mt. West has 17.

I like the idea of keeping the Big 12 and inviting TCU, SMU, and Houston back in and giving Missou the boot. I would also look to ditch Iowa State and try to reel in a replacement for them, although I cannot think who might be interested. I'm all for a Super Conference idea as well in the Big 12 that would include Miami, Florida State, Texas, A&M, TCU, Tech, Baylor, Oklahoma, Okie Light, LSU, Arkansas, Kansas, Kansas State, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, and NC State. This would be a very formidable conference in all sports. Of course some of these schools are patsies in one sport or another, but it would still be a great overall conference with an opportunity to win a National Championship in football, basketball, and baseball year in and year out.

I tried a different alignment last night, with Texas, TAMU, Baylor, and Tech going to the SEC, and OU, OSU, Utah, Utah St., and Colorado St. heading to the Pac 10.

Any way it goes, this would probably never happen because of football power alone. Colorado St. would get obliterated by USC or Cal in almost every sport.

I do like the idea of eight conferences with championship games, then those guys playing for the NC.
