Jon Phillips pitches another complete game, hits an inside the park homer for the winning run in a 5-4 Hawk victory.

Was a little interesting move by the Lubbock coach to pull his starter after they took a 4 run lead in the 5th, may have been looking ahead a bit early.

It was the right move, The kid had thrown nearly as many balls as strikes, He was going through the line-up a third time and PG was putting the bat on the ball on him. He had runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs.

PG is a darn good team and I saw the Phillips kid pitch as a Soph in the 2008 State Tourney when they lost to Snyder. He is a very good pitcher and looked very good yesterday. All runs were unearned as an error with two outs led 4 runs in the 5th.

Congrats to Pleasant Grove! Good win you faced some great teams in your Region to arrive at the final four--it must have paid off. Yes, the third time consecutively to the final four was indeed a CHARM.
