No they will not go. Why do you continue to make a big deal about it?

I think CS has the right perspective with 7 on 7. Play a little ball in the summer to keep the kids active. No thanks on heading to College Station.

Don't go to qualify at SQT and wait to the last minute then say you don't want to go so that the people involved at state have to scramble to find their replacement. Which is difficult to do because of travel and accommodations in CS for the state tournament. Its not cheap to drive 100+ or further and pay for a hotel.

China might have the right the perspective regarding 7 on 7 and thats their choice but why continue to play in State Qualifiers?? And why continue to tell the tournament organizers "oh yes we are going to go" and then dont?? There's plenty of non-qualifiers out there to play in and get some work in.
I continue to make a big deal about it because they continue to do it.

I'd think if they did it again, SQT organizers will just stop letting them participate.

I don't have a dog in the fight, but IMO if CS wants to continue to play SQT then that is there right.
Has someone called their AD or member of the coaching staff and talked about this issue?

I can see both sides. One is the school trying to get in SQT tournaments for competition, because let's face it some of the local 7 on 7 leagues are sub-par.
The other is the marketing side of 7 on 7 which has grown tremendously. Covering every tournament, writing reports, etc... They have to do what they do and there is no fault in that. They also are helping organize and making sure the tournaments are run well and teams are committed.

Schools cheat, find the weakest SQT qualifier tourney (How far is did Edcouch-Elsa's bus travel to qualify a few years back?), scheme 5 wide routes and manipulate true personnel all to TRY and achieve the "glory" associated with being a 7 on 7 State Qualifier.

I love that CS shows up to a close SQT (probably invited because Whitney needed teams), crushes dreams and is indifferent to the whole mess.

It's sorry IMO, but hey if it floats their boat. I know I'm going to do whatever I can now to ensure they are banned if they do it this year.

Since I actually ran a tournament this year I actually have some pull.

VWG,

The issue has been brought up to the China Spring coaches multiple times. We'll just leave it at that.

To stop it all you have to is stop inviting them. I agree it's sorry, but dont make a provision for failure.

Off track a little, but Nate and LE Dad, what are ya'll up to in Marshall? I've been over there working for NFR and Comstock on some of their wells, and will be back around the middle of the month.
