Saw the first few pages of the magazine today and it looks awesome. I am in the process of touching up the last few 2A and 1A district previews and I imagine it will be in stores hopefully late June.

So will it be comparable to Dave Campbell's in that it gives district by district write ups on teams?

I'm interested in what yall have to say about N Forney and their district.

Yes it will be similar. The main difference is our mag is all HS and all color. Generally we'll have feature stories, pre-season all-state teams, top 50 for each class etc

The hope is because we got local experts to do the district previews our picks will be more accurate and previews more thorough.

Of course in South Texas all of our guys we had pegged to do it flamed out, not sure what its in the water down there but its impossible to find good help...had a bit of an issue w/a couple of guys in West TX also

Will members of the press (newspapers) get one shipped to them?

Great question, I would venture to guess no. I think since this is the first year they are gonna be real tight with the budget and hope we make enough sales to sustain the magazine for another year and then hopefully its on solid enough ground to send out freebies.

I spread the word over on another site for ya.... I hope this magazine is as good or better than DC's Texas Football. If it is, you will have a whole lot of regular subscribers.

We'll see, its been interesting and fun. Getting previews for all the schools in the state is a colossal challenge,I'll never say anything bad about DCTF because IMO they do great. I am just hoping we put out a good enough product that some people will enjoy.

The DCTF staff DOES NOT make picks for the districts, the coaches if each district do. When the questionair is sent out for a coach to list his key players and to describe his team, he is also asked to predict the order of finish in his district. After all of the information is gathered, the predictions are totaled and predictions set. They also normally use the Padilla Poll for the top 25 lists.

DCTF staff does not make the picks, it was Padilla last year. Padilla did not work w/DCTF this year....he worked with us.
