Pork Rib rack at Texas Roudhouse is hard to beat.

Steakhouses are a dime a dozen.

Have you ever eaten at an Emeril's restaurant?... best steak I've ever had ..EVER.

When I can find a really good cut there is no restaurant that I can honestly say prepares a steak better than I can myself!

As far as steakhouses I would put The Taste of Texas at the top of the list. Their meat quality is consistently great and the preparation excellent. The most flavorful cut there is the sirloin strip, rib-eye close behind.

I prefer steak grilled so that puts Ruth's Chris down on my list.

Now, if we are talking Prime Rib, Taste of Texas again tops my list closely followed by several others.

True steak lovers would fall in love with some of the steakhouses in Kansas City, Mo and Chicago!

Oh, and if anyone ever wants beef prepared any thing past medium rare had better not set foot in my house! And there is none of that "steak sauce" in my house! If someone needs that crude they have no taste for good beef!

steakhouses usually all end up pretty good. I'd say Texas Roadhouse or Saltgrass isthe best Ive had though.

has anyone on the 3ADL tried the 72 oz steak at the Big Texan in Amarillo?

No, but that always makes me think of John Candy eating the "old 96er" in The Great Outdoors.

I bought some pretty good Ribeyes yesterday and grilled them to perfection last night. Even at one of the cheapest grocers around (Walmart) these steaks cost over 10.00 a lb. I hear it is expected to go much, much higer than that. Anyone else hear something to that effect?

Anyone else hear something to that effect? talked to the guys working in the meat market i usually pick my steaks up from...said they've increased their meats at least 2$ a pound because of the oil spill? i dont know if he was just joking with me, but ive checked other stores out too, prices have gone up everywhere these last few weeks. guess that whole cost and demand has changed a bit these last 2 years.

With the limited options we have around here you can't beat the Texas Roadhouse. Outside this area I've found the Saltgrass very good as well. Willie G's in Galveston is probably the best steak I've had, but it is pricey.... .......that is unless we are talking about the steaks we grill ourselves.

I agree, it's not like the restaurants aren't using seasoning to cook their steaks anyway.

You can put whatever you want on your OWN steak at your OWN HOUSE or restaurant of your choice, I just won't tolerate someone doing that to a good piece of beef at MY house!:p :D

Shoot, my dad gets upset that I add a little garlic before grilling, he would never add anything but salt and pepper, and little of that!

One thing I've always liked about Texas Roadhouse is their choice of cut.

I haven't had a bad steak from there yet.

I think the secret to a good steak is all in the cut of meat...and the position of the cow it comes from.

And it's sooo hard to beat "homemade" anything these days.

Have to agree, the Taste of Texas in Houston on I-10 is my top pick.
