Have you tried shaving your female reproductive region and toughening up lol. But no seriously the best thing to do to prevent soreness is a good cool down with some stretching after you get done lifting. While it doesn't help a lot it may have some effects on soreness. But for the most part soreness is just one of those things you have to put up with at the beginning of a work rountine but fortunatly it usually gets better when increases in your overload aren't as great as they are when you go from not lifting to lifting often.

I was just messing with you...after years of NOT working out, I changed careers and went to work for a wind farm. I was sore the first several times I climbed a wind turbine tower...but it got better as I climbed more every day.

It reminds me of working out...if I don't climb for several days...I may feel it...kinda of like when I used to work out!!

My old motto was "I have to work at getting in to shape.....Now I am getting in to shape at work!"

to be honest there isnt really anything you can do if you want to get stronger...when you work out hard you break down your muscles when that happens they are prone to build up of lactic acid which is what causes soreness..for the most part ev is right

Also due to the microtears in the muscle.

Drink lots of water to try to flush the lactic acid out of the system and continue to work out daily so the acid doesn't just settle. Hot showers, baths, and whirlpool treatments will help ease the pain some.

When you lift heavy you are breaking down muscle to rebuild it.
I never knew anything that fixes breaking things but time. Be careful with anything. I recommend an anti inflammatory such as Ibuprofen but in small amounts. A buddy of mine nearly ruined his kidneys, shoot nearly died because he over did it and dehydrated at the same time. too much ibu plus pain patches. IF the pain is severe alternate with acetamenophin.

The hair of the dog. Just like a hangover, a little consumption the next day helps. So does a light workout, jogging a mile or two, and a light lift.... :)
