All teams have a "nemesis" in their playoff histories, i.e., a team to which they have lost numerous times in the playoffs. Which is your team's, or some well-known examples you can point out from past playoff histories ?

I put this thread up some time ago, but it is closed automatically like all threads of a certain age---so here it is again in off-season to maybe spark a few good posts.

The Bulls have met Sweetwater twice in the last few years in the playoffs, and never beaten them.

LaMarque over Dennison comes to mind in 4A...

I don't think Ingleside has ever beaten Cuero in the playoffs.:(

Burnet & Cuero :twitch:

We have beat Cuero before, just not recently ...

and there is something about San Macros (Texas State) ... we've never won there either!

Bellville vs. Giddings in both Baseball and Football

Football: Last year Bellville beat them in district, then fell to them in Regional Finals.

Baseball: Last year, split 2 games in district, then lost to Giddings in District Championship playoff, then lost to them in Regional Finals. Giddings also beat Bellville in this year's Regional Quarterfinals.

For Brownwood its not so much a team as it is the stadium. Shotwell in Abilene. We have won plenty of games there in the regular season but playoff games there seem to always go against us.

Gainsville is the only team I can think of with 2 playoff wins over LE. :D

for the last couple of years it's been Sealy, before that Navasota and Liberty Hill come to mind.

In football, anybody West plays is a nemisis. If we get there, we can't win-period.

We've always had the same problem at Kyle Field in College Station.

For Navasota, nothing could be worse than being kicked out of the basketball playoffs 4 yrs in a row by Hardin-Jefferson. At the same time, I would bet Silsbee is not too fond of our football team. In football though, Jasper has been a frequent draw in the playoffs.

In football playoffs, there's not been a team in the past 10 years that we've lost to more than once.

For this years' girls teams, it's Abilene Wylie - volleyball, loss in the Regional tourney & basketball, loss in the Regional tourney. Softball? They're playing AW in the Regional Semifinals. Payback's a b and the third time's the charm! GO LADY PANTHERS!!!
