Aledo vs. Abilene Wylie

As I said in an earlier post about Aledo, I think they will make the transition to 4A just fine. Aledo has established themselves as a powerhouse and that will continue. As far as the game this Friday, we better have the intensity turned up all four quarters. I heard Aledo has an excellent quarterback and a solid defensive unit. They are always well coached. I remember back in 96 or 97 when we played Aledo in the playoffs. We were winning 14-7 at half, and feeling pretty good about it. A man next to us said "Aledo is one hell of a second half team." Sure enough the final score 28-14 Aledo. Dustin Proctor, now QB at Hardin Simmons here in Abilene, was QB then at Aledo and was the difference in the game. Anyway, it should be a good game if we can turn it up a notch.

I remember that everybody in the stands wasnt sure that the game against Aledo in 2000 was in hand until Gailey took that punt back. After that, it seemed like Aledo fell apart. I bet that is one of the few times that they have ever not been tough to beat in the 2nd half.
