I wouldn't say Decatur "ain't very good," I'd say that the Lady Panthers displayed a great talent level in last night's win. The Lady Panthers belted out 22 hits in the win, but they also didn't play defense well and their pitching wasn't as good as it could have been.

Tonight could be a totally different story for either/both teams. We'll have the live call of that game, starting with 5:30 p.m. pre-game.

I think Decatur had 2 hits if my memory serves me.
The only thing that will be different is that Beavers will get the ball down like normal, expect another run rule.

Ingleside has been flying under the radar all year. That is good though. Nobody expects them to be as good as they are. Pretty solid defense and can hit the ball. The pitcher Crystal Navarro is tireless. Just ask Sinton and Robstown.

We hit her pretty good in game 1, but she shut us down in our 2nd meeting. Would love a 3rd crack! :)

I hope so Mustang. It would be great because the two teams are close together and the travel should be short. Also it would be good to see you again if we can both make it.

LH beat Decatur, 2 games to 1

Decatur did a GREAT job coming back from a 15-5 loss on Thursday..the Lady Eagles re-composed themselves and - playing with the same exact lineup - beat Liberty Hill 5-4, hanging on in Game 2 as LH made a late-game run.

Game 3 belonged to LH pitcher Kourtney Bevers (pronounced "Beavers"). She held Decatur to 2 hits while striking out 9. Meantime, the LH offense posted 2 runs in the 1st and added another in the 6th for a 3-0 victory.

LH moves on to play China Spring in a Region I quarterfinal matchup next week. THAT should be a GREAT series!

I was afraid of that. The main reason is that I could tell they had good hitters but they were in an unfriendly hitter's field in Sinton.

sinton had rallied...to cut it 7-8 going into the bottom of the fifth......but pearsall answered with three more. In the sixth now Sinton pushed one across have runner at two with two down.

Game 2
Sinton 8
Pearsall 10

Game 3
Sinton 10
Pearsall 14

Both teams fought hard & never gave up. Sinton was up 5-0 in game 2 and then Pearsall woke up and we fell apart. 8 runs off 7 hits in the 3rd inning to take an 8-5 lead. Each time our girls would rally and close the gap, Pearsall would squash our momentum with a big inning. They are the best hitting team we faced this year. everyone of their girls could hit the ball.

Congrats to the Lady Mavs & good luck next week.

Good season Lady Pirates. Learn from this experience and keep fighting. We lose our outfield, but our entire infield will be back next year! :)

If Ingleside is smart against Pearsall they will win the toss for a one game playoff in Sinton. I think their pitcher could hold Pearsall for one game in Sinton.

Why on earth would Pearsall agree to either a one game series, OR to play at a hitter's unfriendly field that is 45 minutes from Ingleside?

Both games I caught on Saturday were great. Sinton never backed down and Pearsall was able to generate enough offense to keep them at bay. Kiana LaBuhn (#1) belted 2 2-run homeruns in game three that were huge. Makayla Cuevas pitched all three complete games for Pearsall.

We've battled injuries at that position all year. Still...we were still in it. We made some errors at critical times and it cost us. We were very young this year, even with 3 seniors in the outfield. LF & RF had never played varsity ball before this year. 1st, 2nd, 3rd and catcher were all new. The catcher was a returning starter, but not as the catcher. All in all, I think we competed well enough to win. Hell, we scored 22 runs over 3 games!! We'll be back stronger next year.

I guess the announcer reads the board since he mentioned the 05 series between the 2nd & 3rd game.
