The situation is in a court holding pattern but the email TASO sent out today was very interesting.
In its filing to the court, it states that the UIL has never been formed by any state's action or action by the legislature (sp). It was formed by the joining of the Texas Debating Club and another Texas Athletic Assoc. From this joining, they have just grown and taken over whatever they thought they should or wanted to.
Kind of interseting reading. Right now, it looks like everything is going TASO's way. At this point the UIL has been restrained by the court from starting its football officiating chapters and certifying officials.
