Pearsall lays claim to the District 29-3A baseball and softball titles after the boys defeated Hondo 10-4 on Friday. Pearsall then topped Devine 2-1 on Saturday in a first place playoff game at Hondo.
The Mavericks earn a first round bye and will play the winner of the Zapata-Mathis contest in an area contest next week.
Pearsall's girls wrapped up the district title with a win over Crystal City and will take on Sinton this weekend in a best of 3 series. Game one is in Sinton and 2 and 3 (if needed) will be in Pearsall.
