My hope for the Big 10 expansion was for Mizzou to the Big 10 followed by the Big 12 adding TCU. If this is true, half of this is looking good so far.

The problem with adding TCU is that unless they nerf the geography by putting TCU in the Big 12 North, they'd have to move one of the teams in the South to the North division and I doubt any of the teams in the South would want that.

link was messed up when i clicked on it

on this note, the other day the SEC issued a statement saying "if" the big ten expanded they had 2 teams in their corner that would be down for joining the SEC in a heartbeat, is basically what he said. so maybe they issued that statement because they heard that mizzou was committed to the big ten and vice versa?

Here is my proposal: Mizzou or Iowa St. to the Big 10; Baylor to the Big 12 North; TCU to the Big 12 South

Logical sense is Oklahoma State to the north. Their only competition for the north title would be Nebraska.

ok st or ou would make the most sense....

Thought about OU also, but I don't think they want to lose to UT twice a year every year...lol

The question to me is: Would they want to separate OU from either Texas or OSU? I tend to doubt it, which is why I suggested they might have to "suspend geography" if they added TCU. From an existing rivalry standpoint, I think TCU or Baylor to the north makes the most sense, though it's a geographic aberration.

Some stories floating around are that Arkansas may be interested in joining the Big 12 if Mizzou leaves.

Wow. Why on earth would they want to leave the SEC? I know there is an old SWC tie-in to a lot of the Big 12 South, but it's hard to imagine wanting to leave the SEC.

Reason to leave the SEC?? Here are a couple of reasons:

1. Florida
2. Alabama
3. Auburn
4. LSU
5. SPEED EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another is that if BIG 10 expands that the SEC will go to 16 teams and try to lure Texas teams away from Big 12. Arkansas need Texas to recruit. They still regret leaving the SWC.

This is reported as perhaps the most significant negative factor against Mizzou leaving the Big 12. Apparently he (like most of the Big 12) heavily recruits in Texas, and leaving the Big 12 and all the Texas road games behind would severely cripple his ability to recruit here.

On the other hand, it looks like they would get considerably more television revenue in the Big Ten for football. Decisions, decisions...

Arkansas would be very smart to get in the Big 12. It would help them recruit Texas players because they would be in television network and all with the Texas schools. If Arkansas got in the Big 12 they could be a perenial top 10-15 school every year because they would have many more Texas players.

What is being talked about on Razorbzck radio is both LSU and Arkansas want Texas teams in the SEC.
