What the heck, I leave for a few minutes to find the name of the plant and ya'll get the thread moved.:doh: Just great!!

The plant is Kenaf, a farm outside of Texarkana grows acres of this stuff. Grows to about 8 ft in 4 or 5 months. They actually cut a maze through it for Halloween. This stuff is supposed to grow anywhere.

You ask... I answer

Kenaf looks like an interesting plant.. I must have missed a good discussion :(

It takes a Hybrid Pine approx 5 years to grow to maturity, on average 7 people to harvest and deliver to the mill. It takes Kenaf 5 months to grow and one to two people to harvest and deliver. It is ashame that the timber industry will not let this product develop to its potential.
