The drilling rig Horizon has been in flames since last night. We were going out to the BP Thunder Horse field the vessel that I was on got a distress call. We been circling the rig all night and still watching it burn. I got up for breakfast and my co-worker told me the deepwater was up in flames and I was like whatever. Sure enought i look out and it's up in flames 200 ft high. It was like a dream when I saw it. That's something I never thought I would see, 11 people were missing out odf 100 and something. We are really not being told anything right now and we are on a BP job and the rig is working for BP.:( . Let's keep everyone in our prayors that were on the rig and the families having to deal with this.:(

Any updates? Radio's still reporting 12 missing. Also said that the rig is starting to lean heavily.

Prayers from Houston.

Yes it was crazy to see the rig sink and the time is pretty accurate. I have real good photos but I'm not allowed to post on the Internet. We are still on location, we are not allowed to say much. The 11 people still have not been found yet.

Sad, sad, sad.... thank goodness for those that did make it off.

Quite an expensive "reef" in the making....

5000 feet below the surface, not much fish that deep anyway. The rig wAs worth between 600 and 700 million though

Can't find anything on the well-being of the crew. Anyone know if the remaining 11 made it out OK?

I thought I heard that the Coast Guard had continued to search last night but called it off this morning.

CNN just had several officials on and the search was to continue until it was too dark to see.
