01:40 AM CDT on Sunday, September 28, 2003

By SCOTT FARRELL / The Dallas Morning News

ADDISON – Lincoln scored on four of its first five possessions and held Thomas Jefferson to negative total yardage en route to a 92-0 non-district victory at Loos Stadium.

Lincoln quarterback Byron Eaton completed two passes for 19 yards to start the game, and Royce Garrett dashed in from 18 yards out three plays later for a quick 7-0 lead. A bad punt snap by Thomas Jefferson gave Kimball the ball back at the TJ 12 one minute later, and Eaton scrambled in for another touchdown that sent Lincoln (4-0), ranked No. 4 in the SportsDay Class 4A rankings, on its way.

Eaton finished the first half 5-of-8 for 74 yards, but Lincoln focused on the ground game. Nine players ran for touchdowns as Lincoln totaled 461 rushing yards. Nine of Lincoln's drives began in Thomas Jefferson territory.

Sophomore reserve running back KaDorian Mathis led Lincoln with 170 yards and three touchdowns on runs of 4, 75 and 63 yards.

James McFadden led Thomas Jefferson (0-5) with 27 rushing yards on 16 carries. Three big losses in its punting game left Jefferson with a minus-11 rushing total.

i was sure someone would have taken this thread down the "coach has no class 'cause he ran up the score" road ...

Hopefully one day some team will do that coach the same way! That was uncalled for.

personally, I don't think you can call it running up the score when they were scoring on the ground. Rushing plays are designed to eat up clock, but if the defense couldn't stop them, they probably deserved to have the 92 hung on them
