If it's a cut-and-paste type of deal, I'd like to see them. Don't go too far out of your way, though.

Cody Haug is exactly what VV needs at this time. He is firey, intense, and loves kids. VV would thrive with him as the Head man.

I agree...the slot T is not what Van Vleck needs.

They need a spread guy...JMO

Need to use their speed and skill guys...that is their best chance to win

Let me clarify...
I have had some people talk to me and I know what they are thinking... they have even asked me my opinion on some people so when I find out more I can involve more...

but right now I really have no idea who will be getting an interview... but I think I will know who they are once they get one since I am close to the situation...

I'm hoping its going to be the guy from Ganado. Knew him really well when he was at East Bernard several years ago.

I smell a Specially Called board meet beyond the horison-Maybe next Thursday if they post having the meeting on Monday for the 3 day notice

There are a lot of really good names on that list but there are a couple of surprises too. I will only single one out but the BRAND NEW AD/HC from Greenville applied??!! WTH? He was only hired at Greenville about 3 or 4 weeks ago and has been there before.

Dillard is not the new head coach in greenville, he use to be there. I believe that was his last job, not sure. Cooper is the new coach in Greenville.

I don't know who the finalists are, but Jeff Rogers fron Navasota would be a good fit. He is the offensive coordinator here and loves the spread type approach. He has had great success with that style of offense and has produced several college recruited receivers and running backs.

Plus, he is a kids friendly coach that will stand up for his athletes and community. I can tell you that he believes in discipline, hard work, and demands respect from the kids and gives it in return. He also will put the best athlete in the field of play and will not be pushed around by those that want thier child to be the star.

There will be at least 1 more person interviewed Wedneday night according to Special called meeting notice I got

From what I gather a person won't be picked until regulary scheduled board meeting on May 17-Not sure I'f im buying that they will wait that long

Randy Lynch is former Bay City Blackcat and has family ties to the area. Would be an excellent choice for the program. Hope Van Vleck doesn't miss out on this one.

Hmmm... Side note here... With the record he had I feel fairly sure Mangan isn't on the top 3 list but it's interesting to see his name up there when he just got a new job less than a month ago.

Van Vleck is moving closer to hiring an athletic director and head football coach.

The Van Vleck school district board of trustees interviewed the three finalists for the position on Wednesday night.

The finalists are El Campo assistant Lane Tobola, Ganado offensive coordinator Greg Bagby, and Fort Bend Hightower defensive coordinator Allen Ham.

Cynthia Clary, superintendent of the Van Vleck school district, said the new athletic director could be hired at a special board meeting or the regular board meeting on May 17.

The athletic director will replace Michael O'Guin, who resigned in March to take an administrative position with the district.

Took VV school board less than a minute to officially select Greg Bagby as new coach and AD

He starts bright and early tomorrow morning

Shortest school board meeting I've ever been at where they selected a new AD and coach
