Nietzsche went crazy before his death. Its unclear how unbalanced he was when he wrote his books :)

He was the Al Bundy of the intellectual world, very misogynistic. Likely the first member of

You become part of the establishment when you have been around for over 35 years in one place, Nate.

Let me know when you're coming so I can get the kids and pets off the streets. :D Seriously, I'll PM you my cell, and if I'm around, I may be available to continue your education....

Taco Mayo?

Nietzsche may have been a strange duck, but I bet he was way more fun to party with than Schadenfreude. ;)

Friedrich had a nice beard at one point in his life, which makes me admire him more. Nihilism was the topic of my final thesis my 3rd year at ACU. Sixteen pages of "extreme description in regard to the last true philosopher of our time", as my professor put it :D

I was joking about Taco Mayo, but as someone who eats at both places semi-regularly, I have to give Casa Torres a definite edge over Dos Chiles. In fact, if I didn't have bunko tonight I might be thinking about takeout. Well worth the drive!

I took a philosophy class my first year at UNT and aced it, but I remember very little except for Camus (Camu?) and Sartre. And that blank slate guy, although that might have been from an early childhood class.

(And that my TA was young and kind of hot.)

Wait a minute--is Shadenfreude even a person? I'm thinking I mixed that up because of another forum...

They would acknowledge it to exist but ponder if it is a viable human necessity or a scheme set in by authoritarian religious groups

http://www.profootballhof.com/assets/Nitschke_Ray_Action_180-220.jpg Nice!! With all of this philosophy talk it makes me remember Ogre in Revenge of the Nerds II when he said, "What if C-A-T really spelled dog?" His river may run slow, but it's much deeper than anyone ever gave him credit for. :D

Nietzsche wins best Philosopher award because I prefer radicalism over obviousism any day
