I don't know much about Henderson. Are they bringing back a lot?

I don't know much about them either. I do know they usually have some talent and are dropping from 4A, but that does not always mean instant success. Pittsburg in that district may need to be in the top 10. Just looking for opinions wanting to hear some football talk:)

4. Abilene Wylie
5. Carthage
6. West Orange-Stark
7. Brownwood
8. IDK!
9. Sealy

I think Carthage takes a step back this season, but they will still be a force come playoff time.

Celina should start out in the 11-20 range. Prosper and Argyle likely will as well.

These are all pure speculation of course-but the top 3 is pretty solid.

WO-S, Coldspring and Giddings are the Region III D2 favorites since both Carthage and Gilmer are moving back to Region II.... Both Jasper and Silsbee as well as Navasota will be going DI. WO-S should destroy Silsbee this Fall and retake the 21-3A district championship.

IMO.. with last years alignments, region 2 was the most overrated region... their top teams would not have stood a chance with the tough region 3 or 4 teams

I understand focusing on the region or area that you are the most familiar with. Here are a couple that you should consider. Argyle will be good but but not top 10. Just in this area, they will be 4th best, at best. Lovejoy, Prosper, and Celina will all be better (Argyle graduated a ton including 2 D1 kids and 3 D2 kids). Where is Abilene Wylie, Big Spring, or Brownwood out of Reg 1? I am not saying all of them but at least 1 of them deserves to be in the top 10.

Seems like Pitt lost a close Graham which lost to Carthage in a close SC game. I think Pitt would have given Carthage all they wanted and then some.

The only teams out of region 3 and region 2 that did anything were East Texas teams so in retrospect you should ammend your statement. Iwould suggest the following...

East Texas OWNS 3A football.

Navasota is not top 10. Maybe 15-20, I just don't know. But then they surprised a lot of people last year, too. They looked championship caliber against Gilmer, Bellville, and Henderson, but like an average or mediocre team against Caldwell, Cameron and Madisonville.

A rebuilding offensive line and questions at QB are negatives, but a solid returning defense and skill position talent coming up from successful subvarsity teams are positives.

Brookshire should be a very deadly team next yr with brandon williams in the backfield. that kid is not fast he is SCARY fast and alot of good teams found that out last yr, plus they arent losing that many players off of there regional finalist squad i remember the juniors class losing only one game there 8th grade to sweeny by 2 and they beat every other team by a huge margin of points. They have speed and size and they look as they can make a good run next year they may not be the number 1 team but i still feel that they can either go very deep or win it all.

Oh okay, I just didn't know?

Didn't y'all lose y'alls QB?

LH returns almost everyone... from a weak team. But still, experience can't hurt you right?

I agree. Celina has not performed at the top 10 level recently. If we can get some top 3A level speed, we could get there.

I don't think Lovejoy will be near as tough as people seem to think or even as good as last year. Micheal Means will be very good again of course and Blake Martin and Haden Marsh will contribute but I believe Lovejoy loses 19 seniors. These are seniors that have been team leaders for at least 3 years now. I could be wrong but I predict Lovejoy will take a step backwards.

I am assuming by recently you must mean last year. With regard to speed, while always nice to have more, that is not, nor was, the issue last season.

Last season was for a lack of a better word awful because of a few reasons injuries and some players just quiting on their team. The 08 team was good and had the talent the issue for them was early on in the oline. You had only 1 starter that returned on that line from the previous year, but once the oline got it figured out they were a very solid oline. I think all the distractions are gone now so Celina should be much improved.
