There are some great games this week and some real mullets.
Lets start with the game of the week...Everman/Kennedale. I have stated in earlier posts that I feel like Everman has the edge in this game for a number of reasons (tougher schedule, home field, revenge). I picked them to win by 7 to 14 points. Not that I think that Kennedale doesn't have a great team. They can put the points up on anybody...one way or the other...it should be a fun game to watch.
Another good game is the Wylie and Sweetwater game. Both of these teams are coming into the game with a couple of losses to good opponents. Both teams are quality and should make the playoffs easily. The one common opponent for these two teams is Graham. Because of the one to one comparison I am picking the Mustangs to win this game. I think that the Bulldogs are a little banged up and they are still trying to break in a very green, but talented quarterback. This should be a good close game if both teams play to their potential.
Springtown/Decatur is another good matchup...for some reason everyone is picking Springtown...but I look for the Eagles to bounce back and redeem themselves. They still have some of the best talent in the region and it will shine on Friday.
Crane/Pecos is another interesting matchup...this will be a very good measuring stick for Pecos. If they can pull off the upset against Crane it will give them the inside tract to carry this success into district. I picked Pecos to make the playoffs at the beginning of the season and I still think that they can make it if they continue to improve. I pick crane in a close one.
Denver City/Kermit should be a real good game. Both of these teams have shown some promise and it will give us an early indication of how good these teams will be in district. Collier sharp picks DC in this game but I have a hunch that Kermit will pull it out.
Clyde needs a confidence building victory over eastland this week. Look for them to win but if they don't...it could be a long year.
Ballinger/Wall...Ballinger looks to bounce back from a dissappointing loss to Breckenridge. This is the second year in a row that the Bucks upset Ballinger. Ballinger had 5 turnovers and many mental lapses in last weeks game. If they repeat last weeks performance...look for a close game and possibly a loss. Ballinger has the talent this year to be a very strong team in region I. However...they cannot afford to take a game off or have the mental lapses that have reared their heads the last two weeks. I think that they will pull it together and win this one big.
Llano/Brady is a matchup of two up and coming teams. Both teams have shown some potential but are insconsistent. If the Bulldogs can capitalize off of the momentum of last weeks game against Comfort....Look for Brady to win this game. Don't count out the Yellowjackets though.
