Comments: Colmesneil beat Big Sandy 6-1 as Kayla Bryan gave up 3 hits, had 11 strikeouts, no earned runs and no walks. Bryan also had a triple and 2 RBI's. Freshman catcher Ali Harvey went 2 for 4 with a double, a homerun, 3 RBI's and scored 2 runs. Colmesneil is 5-0 in district and also beat Broaddus 8-1. West Hardin beat Evadale 12-6. The Beckville Ladycats lost 12-6 to 2A Queen City having 12 errors in the contest. Beckville rebounded to beat Joaquin 10-1 and Overton 17-3 to improve to 17-1 on the season. Clarendon is 13-4 as pitcher Danielle ford is 11-1. all four Clarendon losses came in pool play of tournaments. Falls City beat Woodsboro 5-0 for their fourth shutout on a 6-0 start. Grapeland had fallen a long ways without pitching and were 1-2 in district but beating first place Lovelady 8-3 as UIL has re-instated the Grapeland hurler. Lovelady is now 3-1 in district. Waskom started late due to basketball but is rolling at 5-0 after beating Beckville at Beckville 5-4. Waskom has out scored its district opponents 50-10. Overton beat Martins Mill while Waskom beat Overton 13-5. Ralls went 1-1 against 2a competition beating Colorado City 7-5 and losing to Lubbock Roosevelt 6-5. Crossroad crushed Martin’s Mill blanked 11-0

Comments: Quitman is 14-2 overall and 4-0 in district after beating Lone Oak 2-0, Winnsboro 5-0, Alba 11-0 and Cooper 11-1. Quitman’s Sammye Huddleston is hitting .636 while Tanya Peddy is hitting 714 and the team is hitting .340 overall. Sammye Huddleston is 11-1, 81 innings, .09 ERA, 6 shutouts, 121 strikeouts and sister Summer Huddleston is 3-1, 24 innings, 1.17 ERA, 2 shutouts, 37 strikeouts. Wall won five of seven games before their basketball players rejoined the team. Wall is now 11-4 with wins over Wylie, Lake View and Stamford and a 4-0 loss to Early. Grandview beat Ft Worth Castleberry 9-6 to improve to 16-4. S&S Sadler is 14-2 and in the district lead as the only undefeated team at 5-0 after beating blanked Valley View and Pilot Point which beat Elysian Fields. Grand Saline beat Como-Pickton 22-0 as Lindsey Stanley pitched a no-hitter but Caddo Mills took advantage of five errors to beat Grand Saline 6-5. Wichita Falls City view improved to 15-3-1 with a 6-1 win over 1A Lindsey. Woodville blanked Shelbyville 10-0. Warren slammed Anahuac 14-4 in five innings. Deweyville blanked Buna 7-0. Lindsay Steffek had four hits to lead Hallettsville past Rice 11-1. Alpine beat Ozona 13-0 and Presidio 19-2 to improve to 16-6. Early won the Eula touranemtn beating Merkell 19-0 in the finals. Early pitcher Janna Allen has 82 career wins

As reported Goliad had a nice win over Poth 9-4. Splendora survived upset minded Liberty 1-0 while Lyford is 15-1 overall and the top team in the Valley. Sweeny is on a 4-0 run with wins over: Katy Seven Lakes 2-1, Kincaid 10-0, Royal 19-0 and Wharton 6-0. La Grange is 20-2 after beating Beville 3-0 as Katelin Wolff was a force on the mound with 10 K's bringing her season total to 101 in 13 games. Coldspring beat Shepherd in District play and then fell to Huffman in first home loss of the season. Coldspring is 15-5 overall and 3-1 in district play. Lovejoy freshman Brittany :Lewis had a three run homerun and a double to lead the Leopards from a 9-2 deficit to a 12-9 win over Princeton. Canton beat Kemp and Wills Point while Van beat Eustace and Kemp, the pair are tied for first in district 14. West pounded Glen rose 15-0. Lubbock cooper won the Seminole touranemtn and is 17-4 on the season. Cooper pitcher Lauren Heinrich is 13-3 overall and is hitting .458. Bridge City blanked West Orange Stark 10-0 in six innings as Katie Birdwell hurled another shutout, Giddings shutdown Sealy 5-2. Huntington beat Rusk 1-0. Yoakum is 10-5 after beating Lehman 5-0 and Hallettsville. Huffman-Hargrave shocked Splendora 3-1. Goliad beat Palacios 10-4. Pitcher for Carthage Kaylee Davis committed to TWU. She struck out 13 of 24 batters in the Huntington game. Huntington and Carthage have played twice so far this year. They split both games by identical 1-0 scores. Goliad’s record after the Palacios win is 13-3. Bandera posted a 3-1 record at Fredericksburg. Lyford is 16-1.

PNG is in fourth with their losses to LCM And Nederland. After an 8-8 start, Legacy is 5-0 in district after beating Stephenville 13-2. Lockhart is 12-4 after beating Waco midway and new Braufnels Canyon earlier in the season. Crosby edged Barbers Hill 1-0. Birdville is 13-2 but only 2-1 in district after losing to Azle. Port Lavaca Calhoun is 4-0 in district 19-4 overall, the Castillo sisters are playing well with Cecilia hitting .630 and younger sis hitting .509. Cecilia also has a .78 ERA. Floresville is 16-3 overall and 2-1 in district.

Coppell, Keller, the Woodlands and Clements are all ranked in ESPN Rise national softball poll. The Woodlands is 22-1 with wins over Lufkin 11-1 and New Caney 6-2 over Spring Break. A&M Consolidated Katy Seven Lakes (13-6) 2-0 in 9 innings in Katy and defeated Temple (11-11) 15-0 in four innings in Temple. Bryan 16-7-1 on the season and playing well.
