Congrats LG. No game summary from giddings posters. Heard LG go ahead runs were on pass balls.

LG tied it up after our starting pitcher walked a run in. T. Marlow came in relief and a run scored on a passed ball. Marlow throws an amazing change up along with his other pitches that LG had no answer for. Giddings catcher did a fine job! This game looked more to me like neither team was going to pull out all of their weapons pre-district. Both sides did well, although Giddings had significantly fewer errors than LG. Maybe 2-5, something like that?

Congrats to LG!

Giddings forgot there 2nd place plaque in the dugout. Oh well! It will be a great district race.

Don't know the story on the trophy whether it was intentionally left or not but did see Sunday afternoon that it was delivered to the GHS baseball field and left on home plate with a note "you forgot this" and a few more innuendos.

good game, Giddings pitched sophomore Mason Becker and he did a great job with his six innings of work. Buffs left at least 15 on base and never got any consecutive hits to get anything going. LG turned a great double play to get out of a one out, bases loaded inning. LG capitalized on a walk, then a slow roller hit and run that got Buffs defense out of position, then the pitcher slipped on the wet grass attempting to field a bunt, this loaded the bases for LG....another walk, ties it up 2-2. Buffs changed pitchers to Ty Marlow, then the passed ball for the go ahead run. Giddings had one more chance with bases loaded 2 outs but hit a ground ball to SS for the 3rd out.

LG has a lot of hustle and good speed on the bases. Good game for LG and good for the Buffs to prepare them mentally for district.

Congrats to Masek for another no hitter vs Wharton, early game on Friday and to Brooks Marlow for another victory and gritty pitching performance vs. Bellville.

How many games did each team get to play? What did they end up doing about a 7th place game?

Both teams played two games to get to the championship, overall good game with LG having a number of errors however our pitcher kept his composure. Thorndale played two games Saturday morning, was very nice to get this tournament played after raining out for the last 2 years. Giddings has a very good team however I think they will really miss the two seniors from last year, not quite as good as last year.
