I have heard some of these terms but if anyone could let me know what they are please do so. Some I think I know.

When an offensive lineman has a certain number of pancakes what does that mean? I am not going to try that one but I have heard it.

When an offensive lineman has a certain number of knockdowns what does that mean? I think it means his block knocks the defensive lineman or opponent to the ground.

For a linebacker what does number of TFLs mean?

For a linebacker what does the number of BPUs mean? I think it means blocked punts but I am not sure.

Please help.

Phil, check out you tube under "college football pancake block". To me a pancake is driving someone into the ground.

Not sure that I've ever seen BPU as a stat, but i know PBU is and that stands for Pass Breakups.

pass break ups are definitely counted as a defensive stat in my book. A pancake block is when the offensive lineman does just that...pancakes them and puts the defender on his backside. A knockdown block is a block that knocks the defender down..pretty self explanatory.
