WHAT DOES EVERYBODY THINK ABOUT THE 2002 SEASON AND WHO WILL BE AT THE TOP?

I am gonna wait until after realignment on that one...could be some good 4A teams dropping down..could be some good 3A's moving up and some good 3A's dropping down...

Well I'll go out on an early limb and say that Burnet will be VERY good next year...they may not get the early respect they deserve, but should no doubt deserve a top 10 ranking.

As a Wimberley fan, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing them move up to 4A, but based on the projected cutoffs I've heard, no way that'll happen.

WONDER IF CUERO IS RELOADED FOR SOME MORE GOOD YEARS?

I agree with Matt328 -its too early to speculate. If Jasper and a few others drop down from 4A, it will change the whole projections of 3A ball. Look for Sinton, Everman, Bridge City, and Perryton to be back in the playoffs, all returned a host of skill players. Several other playoff teams return good depth for this next season.

If Sinton finds some O-linemen and linebackers they'll be very hard to beat next year.Skill players could be better and faster than last season.

Commerce should make play-offs and be alright.

It will be interesting to see what realignment will do to commerce's district. i still dont forsee any problem with the tigers making the playoffs and going several rounds in the playoffs. it is an even number year and the tigers have shown their best in odd numbered years lately. ie state in '95, '97, '99 and '01. add the fact that we have the same coach next year. 2002 wont be dull for sure

I agree Kennedale looks pretty good for next year. Only about 6 1/2 months to go

The Gatesville Hornets should be reloaded next year as they enter their new district. With a lot of letterman back this team should go far. I think they will bring their third striaght district championship back to Gatesville.

Ok now I can answer you! In Region 1 Everman and Wylie will be tough...watch out for 4A drop down Canyon out in the panhandle Snyder could make noise dropping from 4A also...Kennedale and Bridgeport will probably be the top teams in Division 2...Region 2 in Division 1 Forney will be young but they'll be there...the drop from 4A should help Paris N Lamar and Tyler Chapel Hill...in Division 2 look for Commerce to be near the top along with Wilmer-Hutchins who returns the house from last year's 10-3 squad...Celina should be a factor along with Daingerfield and a few others out in East Texas...Region 3 in D 1 Jasper is the favorite in D 1, Bridge City should also be in the mix along with an always tough Gatesville team don't count out 4A drop down Navasota wither..in D 2 Marlin, Mexia, Newton should be there...with 4A Navasota dropping down this makes Bellville a likely D 2 team...LaGrange should be tough as well as they move into Region 3...moving to region 4 should help Rice Cons. and Sweeny big time....Sinton is still the team to beat in Region 4..watch out for Bandera as well

I think Cameron is going to be tougher than most people think, if they stay healthy and elgible.

Longview Spring Hill should be good again, could battle for Region 2 title.

Remember the name;

I believe Perryton is losing a lot of talent from last year's team..they still could make noise in Region 1....but they may be a year away

Matthew, do you know what Bandera's enrollment is? I am guessing, but don't know for sure, that Burnet will be D1 and Bandera would get to go D2 in their new district. Last year that may have been to their benefit, seemed like region iv d2 was weaker than d1 this year overall.

Perryton is losing some talent, but, coaches philosophy is play your upper classman before underclassman. There will be alot of Jrs step up that are a very talented bunch of young men. As a matter of fact Perryton will be a factor for at least 3 more years. Its great to know that they will be in Div.II this season. As for Borger and Canyon, really not a factor in football , but for sure in girls basketball.

Well Rabbits from Atlanta hsould be looking good in 2002. They have 15 starters coming back with 6 on offenese and 7 on defense. The only thing will be wether or not the new QB will be able to replace what Jamie Harper (SMU) was able to bring in to the game.Bur either way the rabbs will be tough again this year.

I thought that they lost their big fullback to graduation. I do see them and Sweetwater meeting again. Wasn't that a great game to watch! And did yall notice, Sweetwater didnt lose anyone to graduation also.

They did lose their fullback but already have somebody to take his spot who is about the same size but faster.

I'm in the class of 03' at Aledo, and I can remember playing Kennedale in my 8th grade and freshman years when they were in our district. A great team to say the least. Our only loss in 8th grade. Their upcoming Sr. class is the best they have had in last few years, look for Kennedale to go far.
