Ive seen some for 2A. Looks like Linden Kildare, Refugio, Arp, and Godley have high expectations.

He may not have posted it, but Rocket has his official rankings out. You can just look back at his 2008 or 2009 predictions ...same ole thing.

Isn't Lovejoy bringing back a lot of starters? If so, I would expect them to be in the top 3. And possibly the Div I Champ.

You mean these 2 drop-downs?

Henderson 2009 5-5 Lost 2 of 3 to 3A teams
Lindale 2009 6-5 Lost 3 of 4 to 3A teams

They will have to be much improved in 2010 to be a force.

They will have to be much improved in 2010 to be a force. Lindale was without a QB at the start of the season. They were the only team to beat Pittsburg, regular season, last year. Henderson gave Carthage all they wanted last year and they were very young, from what I understand. Both should be good.

Yes, 8 on both sides of the ball. This includes all of our skill players, QB, all RBs, and receivers. We lost most of the large
lineman, however our Freshman were undefeated and our JV lost only 2. We are very excitied at Lovejoy.:D ;)

LE Dad, you've been taking excuse lessons from Rocket! Joke, just kidding!:D

Hopefully this'll jinx you... ;) ;) My Top 5

1. Gilmer
2. Cuero
3. Lucas Lovejoy
4. Abilene Wylie
5. Carthage

No football program has ever dropped down from 4A and made it to the 3A State Finals in their first year in the past 30 years and I'm predicting right now that it won't happen this year either.

Everman lost in the Semifinals to Abilene Wylie in 2000, Liberty-Eylau lost to Aledo in the 1998 Quarters

Not too sure Lovejoy shouldn't be #1. They should be a force. No, I don't think a 4A drop will win it all, but I do think they may give LL some trouble come playoff time.

Celina vs Lovejoy is a definite possibility in the D1 second round this Fall.... The Bobcats are well-known for knocking off upstarts over the past 25 years. ;)

Now this would be a question for WOS. How many teams have won a SC, then moved up to and become a force in a higher classification? Stratford, Southlake Carroll and Celina come to mind.

2002 was the landmark year... the 5A D2 Finals was Southlake Carroll vs Smithson Valley (both of which were 4A in 2001)

Southlake was not a force their first few years in 4A

I was actually thinking about when they moved up to 3A. If I remember correctly, they were only in 4A a very short time before moving up again.

SLC went 64-28-1 (69.3% winning percentage) during their 8 year tenure competing in 4A (1994-2001) which ranks them in the top 10% of all 4A teams over that same period. They didn't win a State Championship in 4A but I disagree that they weren't a force. It's all relative. They most definitely had the greatest success in 3A and 5A.

I never thought I'd be one to take up for SLC... WOW!

That is accurate info. Both should make the playoffs and be a force in the Reg.II. I'm hoping that Lindale QB was a senior. I watched their playoff game in Van against Sulphur Springs and the Lindale QB was very good.

Remind me again what the Navasota vs Henderson score was last year??

47-0 in Navasota's favor I believe

...and out of Lindale's 5 total losses in 2009, 3 of them were to 3A teams (Spring Hill, Wills Point and Paris)

Aledo has done very well in 4A but what does that have to do with the title of this thread???

Then they (the polls you saw) are absolutely bogus. Gainesville MAY be in the top 5 in our new district but I would pick them 6th.
