Comments: The Beckville Lady Cats are 15-0 with wins over Mount Enterprise, Timpson, Tatum, Dekalb, Dangerfield, )re city, Carlisle and McLeod among others. Malakoff Crossroads was second in the Tyler TASO tournament beating Elkhart, Kemp and Kerens then advancing with wins over Kemp and Palestine Westwood before losing to Grand Saline 3-2. Grapeland edged Crossroads 2-0 but Crossroads then won the Elkhart Tournament. Sam Rayburn is playing up and playing well losing in the finals of the Howe Tournament where Lindsay won consolation. The Ralls Lady Rabbits are 7-2 with their only losses to AAA Lamesa twice 7-2 and 8-7 in 8 innings. They have beaten 2A Teams Denver City, Dimmitt (2), Brownfield, Littlefield, Abernathy and Amarillo San Jacinto. Riesel is 9-2 with wins over Franklin, Moody 11-4, Bruceville Eddy 7-4, Moody 16-1, Holland 4-2, 4A Taylor 5-0, 2A Florence 15-0 and over Vanguard.

Comments: The Grand Saline Lady Indians won the Tyler TASO Tournament beating John Tyler(5A), Palestine Westwood, Malakoff, Elkhart, Kerens, and then Crossroads for the Championship to improve to 11-1-1. Danbury won the Brazosport Classic beating Hay 4-1, Bay City 3-0, Columbia 6-0, Galveston Ball 9-0 and St. Agnes 8-0 to improve to 13-1. Only Danbury loss is to defending class 3A state champion Needville 5-4 on the third ITB. Grandview is 11-1 after beating Mart with Glen Rose third. Dilley won their own tournament including run ruling Laredo Martin, LaPoynor and St. Gerard. Deweyville beat Newton 10-4, West Orange Stark 6-1 and Jasper 5-2. and is 9-1-1. Pattonville Prairiland beat Dekalb 5-1 as Leila Calabria improved to 8-0 with 99 strikeouts. Coahoma is playing very well with wins over Lubbock Cooper, Canyon Randall while improving to 12-5 with eight wins in their last nine games, all against bigger schools.

Comments: Sweeny was 4-2 at the BISD Classic losing 3-0 to Bay City and 7-3 to Brazoswood but beating Bellaire 2-1 in ten innings, Burleson 4-1, Ball 5-2 and Belton 3-2. Sweeny also beat Calhoun 5-1. Needville defeated 4A schools Terry 4-1; Stephen F. Austin 2-0; Bay City 7-1; Friendswood 2-0 then lost to Foster 3-0 in the Championship of the Lamar CISD Tourney. In non-district play Needville lost to Splendora 2-0 but defeated Danbury 5-4 in 9 innings. La Vernia won the Floresville tournament with host Floresville in 2nd, and Goliad 3rd. La Vernia won all 6 games, Floresville went 4-2 as did Goliad. Goliad lost the 2nd place game to Floresville 5-1. Overall, Goliad is 11-3. Bandera was 4-2 in the San Angelo tournament, losing to San Angelo Central, and 1-0 to Coahoma, beating Killeen Harker Heights, Carrollton Newman Smith, Carrollton R.L. Turner and Keller Fossil Ridge to improve to 11-4. Pearsall owns two wins over Bandera. For Bandera, Amber Neal has a 1.25 ERA, with 163 K's in 97 innings. At the plate, she's 33 for 55 for a .600 avg, 5 doubles and 4 triples (.836 slugging %). Huntington went 6-0 at the Hallsville tournament. Celina played in the Belton tournament going 4-2. losing to Waco Midway 2-0 and Midland Lee 8-7 but beating 5A Pasadena Memorial 1-0, 5A Belton 5-3, 4A Magnolia 5-0 and 4A Hendrickson 7-2. Paris North Lamar is 7-3 losing only to Coppell twice and Mt. Pleasant 2-0, North Lamar did beat Mt. Pleasant in another game 1-0. Beat some strong 4A and 5A teams in McKinney Tournament: Lewisville 5-1, Mesquite 5-4, beat Spring Hill 3-0 earlier. Lorena is 12-6 with losses to Pflugerville, Waco Midway, Belton and McKinney but wins over China Spring, Liberty Hill, Brownwood and Lampasas twice. Silsbee lost to Round Rock while Bridge City beat Nimitz and Hardin Jefferson beat Kingwood Park. Needville finishes second at the Lamar CISD Tournament @ George Park (Richmond, TX): with wins over Terry 4-1 Fort Bend Austin 2-1, Bay City 7-0 and Friendswood 2-0 before losing to Richmond Foster in the fianls 3-2. Elsewhere Splendora beat Needville 2-0. Groesbeck was third at Elkhart, second at Jacksonville and won the Ennis tournament last weekend. They lost to Van 5-4 but beat West. Groesbeck relies on senior southpaw Tori Pankonien and freshman southpaw Ashley Mills for mound duty. Lovejoy went 5-1 in the Wylie Tournament. Junior, Melissa Schreck (Baylor verbal commitment) out dueled Royce City’s Kansas bound junior, Alicia Pile in 8 innings, 1-0, tossing a one-hitter. Lovejoy improved to 15-1.

Comments: Moody Lady Trojans have just one loss and won the Corpus Christi tournament including a win over defending state champion New Braunfels Canyon. Tuloso Midway has two losses on the season and Lockhart beat New Braunfels Canyon in the finals of the Round Rock tournament. Waco Midway is struggling without a full team, finishing third in silver consolation but rallied with the return of their basketball players. Brenham lost to Montgomery 2-0 last week then went 4-1 in The Alumni Tournament. Brenham beat Houston Memorial 5-0, Lost to Silsbee 4-1 in (Cool, beat Huffman-Hargrave 5-0, Beat Katy Morton Ranch 9-3, and beat Houston Westside 10-2. Brenham is now 17-3 on the season. In other district action, Magnolia beat Waller 6-1, Wills edged Magnolia West 2-1 and Huntsville beat Caney Creek 4-1. Sulphur Springs is 14-2-1 heading into District play while Silsbee lost to Elgin 1-0 and LaGrange 5-0 and Westside 2-1 but beat Brenham 4-1. The win over Brenham saw Silsbee pitcher Danielle Treadway strike out 14 batters. 8 inning game and freshman Kori Soignet 2 RBI hit. Santa Fe beat Katy 4-1, Dobie 2-1, Fort Bend Clements 11-0 and Alvin 5-4 but lost to Brazoswood 2-0 and 8-1 to the Woodlands. Frisco Wakeland improved to 15-0-1 with wins over Plano, Burleson, Grapevine, and Lubbock Coronado. Wakeland's tie was to Denton Guyer who hit three homeruns in a 6-6 tie. Wakeland has out-scored opponents 92-22. Seven different Wakeland hitters combined for a total of 18 HRs. Manvel’s Lady Mavs hosted their annual tournament (round robin) this week, going 4 and 1. The Mavs lost to Clear Springs 3-0 then beat Deer Park 5 to 0 on a perfect game by Megan Atchison, the first perfect game in Manvel's short softball history. Manvel finished up by beating Galveston Ball 15-0, Magnolia West 7-0 and Fort Bend Kempner 1-0. Manvel is 16-2 overall. Waco Midway went 5-0 in Belton Tourney beating Pflugerville Hendrickson 5-0 Celina 2-0 Magnolia 5-1 Pasadena Memorial 4-0 and 5A Midland Lee 3-0 to improve to 13-4-1. Forney was third at the McKinney tournament losing only to Coppell 1-0 but beating McKinney, Irving, Midland, Southlake Carroll and then lost to Flower Mound Marcus.

Comments: My cut and paste skills struggled a bit last week as The Woodlands is 18-1 and lost to Clements 1-0 while Coppell is 17-1 and also lost to Clements. Clements looks good but a battering 11-0 by 4A Santa Fe last week denies them the top spot. Keller is 17-2. Lady Bird Johnson surprised Smithson Valley in a 12-10 slugfest while The Woodlands improved to 12-0 with a 2-0 win over 4A Montgomery. Stony Point and Westwood finished in Gold at the Round Rock tournament. Mesquite Horn went 6-0 and won the Wylie tournament while Coppell went 6-0 in McKinney and won the Gold Bracket of the event. Coppell extended their season record to 17-1 this week, with a Wednesday night win over McKinney 4-1. Coppell recorded shut-out wins over Plano West (3-0), McKinney North (2-0), Forney (1-0) and Odessa Permian (6-0 in the championship game), plus beat North Lamar HS (Paris, TX) twice by scores of 2-1 & 5-1. Vista Ridge beat Alice 5-0, Midway 3-0 and Burbank 6-0 while Cinco Ranch clipped Austin Bowie 7-3. Pflugerville is 11-2 overall and catcher Haley Outon has ten over the fence homeruns. Fort Bend Clements is dynamite when Liz Paul pitches. Katy looks strong and Bowie pounded Tomball 15-11. Katy is 14-4 after this weekends HSSL Tournament Games. Where they beat Pasadena Dobie 4-3 in ITB, Clute Brazoswood 6-1, Clements 10-1 and Alvin 8-0 but lost to Santa Fe 3-1 and to the Woodlands 6-2 in ITB, This game was 2-2. The Woodlands hit a Grand Slam to win it. Pearland Lost to Cinco Ranch. Clements loses to Santa Fe 11-0. Clements beats The Woodlands and Cinco Ranch Beats Elkin.
