They really do seem to be gelling well together, great trade, really made them contenders in the west.

The gap has definitely closed quite a bit between the Lakers, Nuggets, Jazz, and the Mavs. The Mavs used to be in the middle of the pack of playoff teams until the trade. Now, they are definitely one of the top 3 or 4 teams for sure, maybe even 2nd best. With a little luck, and being on a roll in the playoffs, they could possibly make it to the finals.:eek: The Mavs definitely appear to be a much deeper team, and will be even deeper once Dampier and Tim Thomas make it back from injuries. The Mavs still have to quit having those lulls in play where they let their opponents back into games.:confused: If they can do that I like their chances in the playoffs.

Oh, crap, I guess I wasn't keeping up with what the deal was. I just assumed he was injured. Any ellaboration as to why he is out? They don't talk about it on the broadcasts.....

The upcoming schedule is cupcake for the Mavericks. If they want to seriously contend, they need to roll through their next two weeks. If they stumble a couple of times, I think they'll lose a lot of credibility that they've worked to build up.

I didn't know the situation, but I do remember the announcers saying he is not with the team for personal reasons. God bless him, and I hope his wife pulls through. My prayers are definitely with his family and him. His priorities are definitely in the right place.:(
