Looks like I will be headed to Pearland to build a new substaion soon. I was just wondering if there are any folks from around that area on here.

Where should I look at staying, that will keep me in the least amount of traffic? This ol country boy dont like fighting that Houston traffic on a daily basis.

depends on where you are doing your work in Pearland... 288 at 518, which is the main Pearland exit... is a traffic nightmare so there prolly is not much that you can do... several places to stay on 288 ( Nolan Ryan Expressway) and several places to eat and shop...
I live about 20 miles south in Angleton... just got promoted to head baseball coach at a 2A school...

Thanks for the info! I'll give you a shout when I get down there.

Congrats on the promotion by the way. Good Luck!

I'm in the general AREA.....you should either stay IN Pearland...or to the south of it, i.e. Angleton, Alvin, etc. That way you can come up 288 into Pearland before you really encounter any of Houston's traffic.

Just my $.02.

thanks Stang... there is a BWW down 518, a Saltgrass, and olive garden, a Joe's crabshack... just let me know when you are close...

IH is right though... if you can stay in Pearland or south, and not in Houston, you will be fine...

518 is a traffic nightmare even when it isn't rush hour.

Pearland just feels like a poorly planned town. It grew so quickly that the part of 518 that is lined with chain restaurants and clothing stores is just terrible traffic-wise.

If you can stay way back in Old Pearland, I would suggest that. Alvin is also a good place. Angleton to Pearland isn't too bad trafficwise in the morning, but I usually go through there around 9, it is probably worse earlier.

I work right off of 288 near the 610 Loop in Houston. You definitely want to stay AWAY from here if you want to avoid traffic.

I'm just to the north of you in Deer Park. In fact we'll be working in Pearland probably 2nd and 3rd week of March.

Why haven't we hung out if you're in Deer Park?

Hah, I think that's a joke since you would never want to hang out with me. :p
