He would have been better off if he had just released a written statement or said nothing at all. This is painful to watch. Yikes.

painful to watch yes, but I think it was the right thing to do and is a good first step ... just my opinion

He had to do the mea culpa to have any chance of coming back or retaining any endorsements, and it was exactly the prepared, carefully crafted, statement that I expected. I wish him well, and hope that this thing will just go away after his return.

I don't believe this one helped him much at all. He better hope there are better ones in the future.

Agreed, making a statement helped Kobe out tremendously.

I wish he would just go back and play golf. I am sick to death of hearing about him.

You would think he was the first man in the world to stray.....granted, he strayed long and hard (pardon the pun) but geez....enough already!!!

I could feel for Kobe it was a one time thing and you can say what you want about "rape" but I really do not believe that was the case. Tiger seems like he isnt sorry it happened just sorry he got caught.

Anyone who ever bought into the idea of this guy being thought of as a serious well respected spokes person for some high fluted companys and also a role model for the young generations in need of ones these days seriously need to hit the refund button and now. The lack of respect he showed toward his wife and family deserves no forgiving IMO. I hope no one is out to much on this guy.:(

Golf Channel guys aren't very sympathetic. This comes in the middle of the Accenture Match Play, the first company to drop him. A lot of the golfers feel this wasn't the day to do this, and that it takes away from what they are doing on the course. I think this is just part of the 12 step program! Thought he sounded contrite in the beginning before he started pointing out the good his foundation does and slamming the press. He should just have apologized and left out all the "yeah, buts."

He had already started graying before the Thanksgiving Day stuff.

just a bunch of words. All he really did is acknowledge what he did was wrong. To be fair I know adults older than him who can't seem to do that. I don't care one way or the other. If he lives the rest of his life to a higher standard I think that's great. If not, well it really doesn't affect me.

He looked A LOT older and was talking way too slow. Being rehearsed is one thing, we all saw that coming. But he was talking so slowwwwwww that it was hard to watch.

Golf fan - no. Tiger fan - hell no! This was such a crock! Sickening to watch. Rich athletes (all sports) think they can waltz in and do whatever they want with no consequences. When someone calls them on it they think saying "I'm sorry" makes it all better. NOT! And leave out Dad, Mom, kids, the foundation and the wifey too.
With all the b.s. that was shoveled onto the public today, Tiger was correct on one thing. He is SORRY, so very (worthless) sorry! Crawl back under the rock you came out from.

Unfortunately my cable has been out all down and i didnt get to watch it...not that i would have really thought to watch it but just sayin no class today and no cable ugh its driving me crazy.

oh and i think Tiger made a huge mistake with all of his antics but I believe in a few years, this will all be behind him and he will have an entirely new line up of endorsements shelling out prolly twice what he makes out on the course.

When this originally happened I wouldn't say Cowherd ripped him at all. He stated that Tiger owes us nothing other than to get back to playing golf again. Which is true. The only apologies that he owes are to the ones close to him. IMO who cares if he read a script? Who are we to say it wasn't sincere? Once again, he owes us absolutely nothing other than getting back on the course and winning the Masters.

I'll never understand how much joy some people seem to get when the mighty have fallen. Sure he screwed up big time. And he has paid a huge price for it, and will continue to do so for some time to come, maybe even for the rest of his life to some extent. The man knows he screwed up royally, admits it, and is trying put some of the pieces back together again. But for some reason, too many media hacks, and just people in general, want to take cheap shots at him, and see how much deeper in the hole they bury him in. It seems like, the bigger they are the harder they fall, and there’s never a shortage of self righteous do-gooders to keep piling on more crap. I usually end up having less respect for these folks, than I ever had for the mighty one that has fallen. And worse yet, you'll never hear any of them apologize for their actions. They're too busy looking for the next poor sucker to hammer on. Must be a sad and pathetic life to live that way.

After all Bill Clinton never actually apologized. He just played
dumb instead and he was the leader of the free world for 8
years. Tiger Woods is only a pro golfer.

People overcome various addictions by treating and ceasing the activity.

If you are addicted to gambling, you must quit gambling.

If you are addicted to alcohol, you must quit drinking.

If you are addicted to drug, you must quit using.

So if he is overcame his addiction to sex... does that mean.

People are gonna think what they want to about Tiger, as a person, from here on out no matter what he does or says, the only thing he has control over is how people see him as a golfer, so my advice to him would be get back on the course and make people see that even if they dont agree with you/like you/respect you as a man that you are still the best golfer in the world and no one can take that from him
