have to go with the Forney crew on this one.
Granted I didn't get a look at what Burnet could do with a full deck.....but thats football!

Both teams at full strength, of course I'm going to say Burnet by a hair. At last season's end, I would give the nod to Forney. With an immobile McGee, the jackrabbits could have gotten to him before he could find the open man much like Everman did. Burnet limped through their last two playoff wins, before being dumped by Everman, and a team as good as Forney would have done the same to us at that point. What we do know is that we didn't get to meet at all, and we both fell short of our goals. I'm sure both teams have already established the same lofty goal as last year, and who knows perhaps we will get to see it this coming year. Forney and Burnet both have some holes to fill before that can happen. When you have to replace 2 or 3 All-Staters like these teams will have to, you are a long way from even getting back to where you were last year. Both teams have their work cut out for them, because their are many worthy opponents just waiting to pounce on either of these two. Good luck to both this coming season!

Forney and Burnet go through 3 OTs when they decide to go on penetrations......only to find out they are both tied in that, so they go to first downs.....they then realize that both teams have the same amount of first downs. The coaches and refs gather at midfield and decide that the cheerleaders should have a cheer-off to decide the winner. Forney wins the toss and elects to go first that way all the pressure is on the Burnet squad. Forney does a rousing rendition of "Go Back - Go Back - Go back to the woods, your team ain't gonna win and your coach is no good" followed by the always popular "two bits". The crowd goes wild. Now the Burnet squad is up and they start off with "Rah Rah Rah kick 'em in the jaw, Rah Rah Rah Re kick 'em in the knee, Rah Rah Rass kick 'em in the other knee". They close with "We've got spirit yes we do we've got spirit, how 'bout you?" Now the officials had gathered at midfield and declared that neither squad stole the show, so the only thing to do was to call it.....

A TIE! :p :p :p

Both towns have great Barbecue Joints.

Burnet at the Steak has great ribs.

The Forney Caterers have great sausage.

But Forneys football team wins by 4 pts. Sorry but Defense wins this one.

I think PPHSfan has a point about defense. Look at the scores; both Forney and Burnet scored 14, but Forney only allowed 21. It came down to regional location and who met who and when. Bottom line for Burnet......the runner-up trophy sits in our school, BUT the big one still sits in Everman! Maybe if the stars line up right (LOL), it could be Forney and Burnet for state in 2003!

Wouldn't that be great. Let's hope the stars line up indeed.

Gotta go with Forney on this one. They seemed to be tougher mentally than Burnet.
