Spoke to a umpire friend of mine about 7:30 who was working a game between Tx. City and Foster. One of the girls broke her leg going past 1st base. It was so bad life flight had to be called in. Who would ever think something like this could happen in a softball game? Please say an extra prayer for this young lady and her family this evening, and thanks..

Prayers sent...had a game last year where the pitcher threw a wild pitch and came to cover the plate and got cleated. then he began walking to his dugout to be attended to and the batter took a practice swing accidentally breaking the pitchers jaw. worst thing ive seen calling games.

I worked a game in Burton this evening where a foul ball came off the edge of the plate and hit the girl in the face mask. Those used to not be mandatory. She may have had teeth or nose issues without it tonight..
