Reports are coming out that the Dallas Mavs and Washington Wizards are very close to trading:

Josh Howard, Drew Gooden, and one of following players (JJ Barea, Quinton Ross, James Singleton, or Tim Thomas)

for

Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood, and DeShawn Stevenson


I hope this trade comes true. The Mavs would upgrade their roster (with 2 starters being added to the lineup) for Howard, Gooden, and filler. Even better, Gooden may be released after the trade and return to the Mavs(after the 30 day waiting period)!

Well Houston was going to trade McGrady to the Knicks and they would send some players to Washington. The Wizards would then send Butler and Haywood to Houston. Guess that won't happen now!!!

If it's up to the Mavs it will likely be Singleton I would think. He is avg 3 mpg
