Three 3A players considered among the top 250 prospects in the nation.

Jaxon Shipley, WR Brownwood (http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Jaxon-Shipley-85200)

Cedric Reed, DE Cleveland (http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Cedric-Reed-85195)

RB Brandon Williams, Brookshire-Royal (http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Brandon-Williams-105895)

As far as other Texas small school prospects go, Daingerfield LB Steve Edmond (http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Steve-Edmond-96592) also made the list.

All 3 are invited to Texas Jr days as well. Im going to say Texas claims 2 out of the 3 (JS and CR)

I know Shipley's a shoo-in for Texas. Wouldn't surprise me at all if the 'Horns picked up two, or even all three of these kids--though they typically go after and sign higher-profile RB's.

Thats the thing, with so many other backs out there I dont see how they take more then 2 in this next class. Williams might slip in, but it would have to be after either Brown, Green, or Sims turned down the offer. Texas will grab one of those three, but after that I think it becomes a first come first serve type deal where Williams could slip in that way (which is not intended to be a knock on him by any means).

The state has quality backs this year and unfortunately you are limited with how many you can take both in amount and at position and needs each year have to take priority. I have heard Williams is a great prospect and will make someone a good RB in college.

Williams could get on the field as a freshmen. But I think it won't be at Texas.
