It is being posted on TheOldCoach that on tonights Bremond ISD board agenda there is an item saying that Wendall Robinson is resigning. That would lead one to believe that his son is going to be offered the job. That would create an opening in LaVernia.

NOTICE OF SCHOOL BOARD DISTRICT SPECIAL MEETING BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Bremond Independent School District
Monday, 6:00 PM February 8, 2010
Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the Bremond ISD will be held on February 8, 2010 beginning at 6:00 PM in the conference room located at the central office. The subjects to be discussed or considered, or upon which any formal action may be taken are as follows. Items do not have to be taken in the same order as shown on the meeting notice.
I. Call to order ? President Mark Drymalla
II. Prayer
III. Board Member Wendell Robinson resignation
IV. Board Member Appointment
V. Athletic Director position
VI. Closed session
A. Personnel ? 551.074
VII. Open session
A. Take action on any item discussed in closed session
VIII. Adjournment
If, during the course of the meeting, discussion of any item on the agenda should be held in a closed meeting, the board will conduct a closed meeting in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter 551, Subchapters D and E. Before any closed meeting in convened, the presiding officer will publicly identify the section or sections of the Act authorizing the closed meeting. All final votes, actions, or decisions will be taken in open meeting.
This notice is posted in compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act on February 06, 2010 by 6:00 PM.

Or his son did not get it. Thus the resigning

True....the jist of the post (that I cut/pasted) was that Robinson's son was going to get job. It will be official tomorrow, so we'll know for sure.

No has a little brother (I guess be could be on staff at LaVernia) and I would bet that the Bremond job is going to him. I think his name is Ty.

idk if that is the reason or either robinson brother is interested....but Bo younger brother Ty is at Overton.

I obviously meant "Bo" not No....I just got an iPhone and I kind of suck at typing on the touch pad right now. Sorry for the typo and any confusion I may have caused.

I guess stranger things have happened but I can't remember when. Why would Bo leave a good 3A program to go to a decent class 1A school?

Bo has some family land near Bremond and that is home. I wouldn't be surprised if Wyndell, Bo and Ty all don’t end up in the Bremond area.

It looks like my guess was wrong.

Ty's job is posted (Overton)...so I guess he is going to Bremond.

Unless they are both going...should be interesting.

I can believe it. At Bremond you actually have a chance of winning a state championship. It has that caliber of talent cycle through at least once every 5-6 years.

The 1A site is reporting that Bruce Brignac, the DC from 1A Mart, was hired as Bremond's new AD/HC last night.

I heard the same thing. I was really surprised. I thought they were going to hire a Robinson for sure.

i read the same thing some where...said robinson resigns ad/hc position at overton...but quoted the supt as saying robinson would honor his teaching contract.

I was expecting to hear that Bo got the job and was bringing Ty with him. Heard that it was a real shock that Brignac was the one who got it. Wonder what the story is.

Don't know what that story is, but I worked with Bruce for a number of years in (2A) Stockdale. He's a great guy and anyone is lucky to have him. Best of luck ol' buddy!

I read that allegedly the salary being offered wasn't enough and Bo Robinson took himself out of the running. Don't know how reliable that info is. Whatever the situation, Brignac is certainly well-qualified and is an excellent choice. I've heard a lot of good things about him, and he's coming from a very good program at Mart. Should turn out to be a great decision by the board.
