Bethel High of Brandt, O., was shut out all 10 games in 1974. The 420-student school lost by scores of
40-0, 53-0, 92-0, 89-0, 50-0, 56-0, 36-0, 33-0, 46-0, and 49-0. The 89-0 game was called after 3 min. of the second quarter as a merciful gesture.

The 56-0 game was closer than it could have been, because Beloit's opponent began attempting field goals on first down. Bethel almost scored in one game, marching to its opponent's 1-yd. line. However, four attempts from that spot failed. The coach's name: Dennis Reck.

Is this just 3A? Because Dallas Jefferson was pretty darn close to that..they did, however, score in the ninth game of the season.

Calallen was 0-10 in 1972 and only scored 14 points all season...6 vs Aransas Pass and 8 vs Sinton.

BTW we were 3A at the time.

After that though they got Ted Gray and he turned them around and they have been doing great ever since.

In fact when Coach Gray was at Calallen Gregory-Portand ruled that district. He was there three years and a Gregory-Portland assistant coach told me they improved every year he was there. The first year G-P beat them 70 to 0. Then the next year it was 7 -0 followed by a 7 - 7 tie the third year. He said if he had stayed there's no telling what would have happened the fourth year but it did start Calallen's improving.
