Just got off the phone with his mom. She wanted me to mention that the offer was made to QB at Virginia as well as Texas State and he weighed his options and chose Texas State. Many things went into the decision but distance (to Virginia) was a deciding factor.

Congrats to you Tyler. I look forward to making the trip up Highway 80 many times in the next 4 years

yes the Virginia head coach was in Cuero last Thursday after Tylers official visit the weekend before.

Congratulations, Tyler. We know you have considered this decision very carefully. Congrats to the family as well. It'll be great for him to be this close to home. Also am personally pleased that he will be close enough for us to go watch him play. Guess he will now be throwing to a familiar WR Corey Scott. Best wishes to a special Gobbler

He will have to fight for a job this next season. we have alot of young qbs on the team and Bradley is graduating so our most experienced qb would probably be Tim Hawkins. He played 10 games but was only 5-9 for 36 yards.
It should be a fun off-season full of alot of qbs competing to get that #1 spot.
Good luck to Arndt tho

Congrats to Tyler!

I know that he is a standout in baseball too. Any chance he is a draftable player?

I'm one happy alumnus.....is Charlie Reeve still there? I wonder if he gets to play baseball too.

I'm wondering the same thing??? I am very happy for Tyler. The Gobblers will miss him next year on the football field. I'm sure there are baseball scouts ready to draft him also.

Yes, Charlie is still at TSU. He has been seen around Cuero more than usual over the last couple of weeks. Guess this explains that. Think this will be a good move for Tyler and his family. I'm sure it makes them feel comfortable knowing that Charlie will be there.

Is there a list of all of the schools he turned down to go to Texas State?

Congrats. It has been great seeing you play the last few years and I hope to see you play again in the next 4 or 5.

Great young man from what everyone says and what I have seen.

Good offer, clicked with coaches, will get playing time soon. Went to his signing. There was a big crowd and Tyler looked genuinely happy. Tyler has a real good head on his shoulders and has made the right decision for him. I'll be the one wearing Gobbler green to his TSU games. :D :D

Tyler also had an offer from Virginia. The coach came here to Cuero after Tyler and his folks visited Virginia.

I attended the signing as well. Good to see family, friends, faculty and other well-wishers there to support Tyler. It's been great fun to watch him grow and mature on and off the field the last 3 years. We will miss him!

Heard today that he will also be playing baseball at Texas State. Guess that may be why some of the bigger schools missed out on him!

Congratulations Tyler and Good Luck at TSU!

Not sure who told you that, as of right now there is no truth to Tyler playing baseball at Texas State. He will strictly be concetrating on playing football and getting on the field this August. That doesn't mean he won't but their has been not serious talk between Tyler and Texas State Baseball abot coming out for the team.

Thanks, NS. We don't get the SA paper in Cuero anymore and I forget to check their website regularly for local mentions as we don't get that many. Really nice article.

From what Tyler said here looks like he some of the other schools wanted a faster decision, nevertheless all that matters is what he wants.

Lots of Texas State fans can't remember any higher rated recruit than Tyler.
